Every Oklahoma Football player on scholarship will receive $50,000 in NIL money a year. Plans are to start enrolling players for payment the day after the Spring Game with everyone onboarded by the fall. #JustWow

Curious to see how this will work for basketball.

Probably not 50K each for basketball players, but I would bet it's substantial. Even $20k annually would be a huge draw for a lot of guys. Not many schools are going to be able to afford this ... UCONN's athletic department as an example ran at a $50 million deficit last year. Football schools are really the only ones who can sustain this except for niche areas with huge basketball fan bases like KU.

Looks like there's another HIGH PRIORITY target

Great news. I believe this is the foundation and the players can still earn above and beyond this through other NIL opportunities. I am also curious to see how it works for basketball as well. Let’s GO!!!

I wonder how it effects getting a solid education. Does bouncing from school to school demean the end product or is it the same as staying put at one institution.

I’m not sure how it works anymore, but when I was in school you had to have the equivalent of at least 2 yrs credit at graduating school or you didn’t get your degree. However, if you’re getting one of the many worthless degrees they sell today, maybe it doesn’t matter.

Since there's only about 14 basketball players on the team, it seems to me that they would get at least as much as the football players. Should be more!!

Is this legal? How do you go from Mormon to southern Baptist? He changed his whole religion. Drew is leading a revival.
