Being that this info is from the Primo side of things, not much was said or implied as to the why. They enjoyed their talks with OU/Moser and now that they're wanting to decide soon, OU hasn't reached back out. Maybe it'll change.

My gut says it's somewhat Mo-related. Can't land Spears, Sherfield, and then try to recruit Mo to come back all at the same time.

Sherfield and Marble II both played for Southern Assault. I don't know if they played together. Being that they're both from the same class ('19), probably did at some point.

This is an awesome thread forsure. I'm a casual fan so I want to make sure I'm understanding this right. I've been trying to stay updated in between work.

It sounds like Sherfield was committed to committing and Gibson was thinking of transferring. Then Gibson was all in with Sherfield committing. Then Sherfield picked up a last-minute visit to Gonzaga and now Gibson is looking to transfer because he doesn't think he can reach his full potential splitting time with Sherfield. But it's not unlikely that Sherfield chooses Zaga over OU. But Gibson could potentially transfer to an in-conference rival before Sherfield even makes a decision.

Man, if that's true, I truly feel for the coaching staff. This can't be fun at all.

I wondered if he didn't mean something more like, "I want to make sure that I'm with the team best-suited to help me reach my full potential"--which would not rule OU out, but would just mean that he was checking out all options.

That's probably wishful thinking on my part, but not everyone is a wordsmith. It's possible that's what he was trying to get across.

I know, I know--I'm being naive.
