@justinmhite: Big weekend for #Sooners hoops. @KamMcgusty & @mattyfreeman33 make officials.

’17 targets @Ethan_Chargo1s and @BradyManek make unofficials.
 
He is a good player, grandfather, I believe, was a Globetrotter. Solid family. Agree with the tweener comment. He is very skilled and smooth, but plays inside at Union and likely projects to a stretch 4 for OU. He shoots well, just not sure about his range to the 3-point line. Just doesn't do this in HS. I have seen him play AAU a couple of times, but my son was hurt last year, so I didn't make any of last season's tournaments.

I think he'd be a good fit for LK

I didn't see anything in the Chargois video to impress me all that much. If our coaches have an interest, I assume he can do more than take spot-up jumpers.

Manek doesn't appear to be a great athlete who plays above the rim. Still, he has the ability to score inside with some crafty moves and an obvious high basketball IQ that more than makes up for the athleticism he seems to be lacking. I like what I saw in that brief highlight video.
 
I thought Romar fell out of a pickup truck, but sometimes I get my 5-star, washed up, Sooner QB recruits confused.

Manek can stroke, think SF version of Mitchell Solomon.

CoachTalk, Ada, or BCSooner; Has OU offered Manek? If so why is he on an unofficial? Does OU want him or is he a back up option? I would love to have a kid like him on the team. Gotta show the Oklahoma kids some love too

He has an offer. Unofficial beacause hes close. Other guys coming in... Coaches can encourage unofficials. McGusty and Freeman are coming in... Ou wants him.

Trae Young has been on probably 10 unofficials. He's in Norman all the time.

Yes we have offered, all state schools have. My guess is that he's taking an unofficial because Harrah is 30 minutes from Norman and he can come on as many unofficial visits as he wants. When he sets his official visits we will definitely get one, I believe we are on the top of his list. I don't think he's a backup option, he's not the most talented kid in the world but still a high major talent in your own backyard so playing at OU could mean more to him and make him work harder. Also he's a 6'7 and growing wing who can really shoot it.

Rivals has him ranked in their top 150.

Ethan is a great kid who was last measured at 6'8. He is 240 pounds and in my opinion needs to trim his body up some.

What keeps him from getting that OU offer in my opinion, is that he lacks the explosiveness they want from a guy his height.

He is very skilled and does shoot the three in high school games. I am not sure what he shot from the 3 point line last year but I can find out. What held him back last year was a group of upperclassmen who were jealous of a soph being the best player.

I agree if he was 6'10 he would have been offered right now and would be committed to OU.

Great kid from a great family. Dad played football at TU.
 
The video posted of Manek are from the summer of 2014. He was still very young and adjusting to his body. He is now much more athletic and starting to fill out a little bit. He is by no means going to jump out of the gym and not would not be confused with a bodybuilder but physically looks better than that video.
