Assuming Buddy stays on his average, he should be somewhere around 2,150 by the end of the regular season. That would put him roughly 130 points out of second all time. Again, if he stays on his average, he'd need around 5 or 6 more games to get there.

Thank you.

Here are some stats I like:

Hield three point % 52.4
Woodard three point % 53.2
Cousins three point % 45.7
Spangler three point % 40
James three point % 38.5
Buford three point % 37.0
Walker three point % 36.8

In 2009 the top three point shooter were Warren at 37.2% and Crocker at 34.9%.

Another stat I really like is this stat line for Cousins over the last four games:

19 points per game, 65.2% from the floor, 73.33% from three, 71% from the line, 4.5 rebounds per game, 5.75 assists per game, and 2 turn overs per game. He did that with two of the games against ranked opponents and three on the road.

Wow. Cousins has been locked in the last few weeks. He's also averaging 2 steals per game including a couple in critical situations Saturday.

Cousins looks more comfortable at PG than he ever has. He's playing on a higher level now, with so much confidence. His speed and defensive play are something else.

If he sustains this level of play, he can make a lot of money overseas playing somewhere. He might eventually become an NBA backup. Kind of a Tony Allen type player.

I remember myself thinking back in the day.. everyone has plain ol shooters but us.. my how times have changed

yeah our 3 point specialists were cade davis and michael neal. Great shooters but streaky and still in the upper 30s percentage wise I believe. They would rank what on this team? sixth best?

In 2009 those listed were the highest averages. I think Neal was gone by 2009. Davis was a sophomore and did not shoot as well as Warren or Crocker.

Will anyone ever come close to Wayman's scoring record? Think about if he'd played 4 years? Wow.

That being said thanks for the info.

Hard to believe that Lattin is already a top 10 shot blocker in OU history. That's impressive.

I suppose it's possible if you get a guy like JJ Reddick who isn't really a one and done type, but can score from day 1. The rule changes might help. But to put Wayman's record in perspective, if Buddy plays 19 more games (would be a run to bot the Big 12 and NCAA title games), he could average 30 ppg and still fall 200 short of Wayman's record.

Finally, if Wayman had come back for his senior season, he would have had a shot at breaking Pete Maravich's all time scoring record (3,667). Wayman would have needed just a little over 1,000. That would have been a lot, but I think Billy would have tried to let him get it.

even more impressive is if you project 16 more games at his average he will hit #9 in 1 year and will be forth overall at 124

Buddy is up to 1,957 points. He has a shot to pass Stacey King for 5th all time next Wednesday @ Texas Tech. Assuming Buddy averages 25 points per game in the remaining games, he'll finish the regular season 4th all time with 2,132 points. He'd need 150 points in the post season to pass Jeff Webster for 2nd all time.

In other news:

Buddy needs just 10 more 3s to break the all time record for 3s made in a season.

Woodard needs just 28 more points to reach 1,000 for his career, Spangler needs 92.

Spangler has moved into #8 all time in rebounding. With 10 more, he'll pass King and Heard to move to #6.

Khadeem is #10 in all time blocks and only needs 4 more to pass Najera for #9.

Cousins needs just 13 more 3s to move into the top 10 all time in career 3s made.

Woodard needs just 2 more assists to pass Brent Price for 10th all time in career assists. It's a little early to project, but depending on how next season goes, Jordan has a shot at becoming OU's all time assists leader.

It is crazy that this team will have four (likely, three is a certainty) 1,000 point scorers, likely the number two all time scorer, two of the top ten all time 3 pointer's made, the likely number 6 all time rebounder (and possibly higher), possibly the top All time shot blocker (when he is done and certainly top 4), another likely top 10 all time shot blocker, and a top 10 all time assist leader. Cousins is at 15 in assists and will certainly reach 14. I doubt any OU will ever shoot this well from three again. Those are lofty numbers for a starting five.

Those (prospective) stats you posted, Zim, are all very impressive. I'm not sure how many OU fans realize how special this group is (and can be).

And, Denver; you're right, these 3-point numbers are both impressive and lofty. The Sooners (Isaiah notwithstanding) have been in a bit of a shooting slump over the last few games. I believe Buddy and Jordan are due to break out, and Saturday would certainly be a good time to do it.

Yep, the brilliance of moving him to PG is really showing up now.
