If you go back to after the BYU game, I had no doubt OU was a tournament team. The losses to Texas and Tech were tough but I still felt like the team would finish the season playing their best basketball. I mean isn’t that when Moser’s teams typically do well? I certainty bought into that idea. But then something changed before the first OSU game. Idk what. Starting with the OSU game OU started to play their worst basketball of the season. We can blame injuries all we want but the product on the court was wretched at times. A team can be shorthanded, play well and lose a close one. That’s what good teams do. But not OU. The team after the OSU game on February 10th is not playing like they belong in the dance. OU, since February 10th has gone, 2-8. They’ve won TWO games in over a month. And most of the losses haven’t even been close. That is not what tournament teams do. We can argue talent, injuries, coaching etc. But we, as fans, are delusional if we think anything is going to change in a week. Yes, I will be happy on Sunday when OU’s name is called. But there is nothing from the last month of the season that gives me hope OU can play well against another tournament team. Even the Houston game.I think a healthy OU is a national title contender. We have clearly shown that by how well we played the first 12 games of the conference season. I mean, we beat ISU, BYU … I’m sure there are more. Well, at least we played a lot of close games, like Houston, Tech … again, I’m sure there are more. Surely there must be
I'll even go as far to say that the team that beat ISU on January would beat the current OU team (eve without injuries) by 10+. Something is off with the team right now. I think we can all see/feel it. I have the same feeling in my gut as I did during the end of Tre Young's year.
