Texas Tech will be open, but that is a foregone conclusion.

Here are 5 coaches that I predict will be fired.

Tony Barbee- Auburn
Ben Braun -Rice
Jeff Bzdelik -Wake Forest
Mark Fox- Georgia
Craig Robinson -Oregon State

And we all know there will be several.
I just couldn't find many obvious choices beyond these guys.

Mark Fox is the one prediction I feel least confident about.

If Fox gets canned, juwaun Parker could possibly transfer? I spoke with someone in tunica and they were high on Parker and fox's relationship. I could see him trying to get out of that letter.

He wouldn't have to transfer. They would more than likely release him from his LOI and he could play right away.

Yeah didnt mean transfer, said letter later in the quote!

I can't for the life of me figure out why Baylor hasn't already fired Drew... This year SHOULD be the coup de grace, but he must have pics of Kenneth Starr or something...

It has to be his ability to recruit, because it's definitely not his coaching.

The real mystery to me, though, is how does he bring in so much talent every season, when it should be obvious to everyone by now that Baylor is the worst coached team in the Big 12? One only has to replay the final minutes of last night's game against UT, or any Bear's game for that matter, to see evidence of a poorly coached team.

Probably because he has had more success than anyone else at Baylor.

Well, I think the ability to "recruit" at Baylor is a little bit more a function of it being Baylor than Drew's ability... (wink, wink)

Probably because he has had more success than anyone else at Baylor.

I guess that's true, but at some point don't you have to compare him to a different set of expectations? I mean if you look at the talent on that team, they shouldn't be losing the bubble battle this year...

It only takes a few minutes of watching his team to see how poorly coached they are...

In Drew's defense, his super-talented teams that always find a way to disappoint are still the high water mark in Baylor history. Drew is responsible for half of their NCAA tournament appearances. He has had a couple of deep tournament runs. For a school with Baylor's historical irrelevancy that is big deal.

As a fan, though, it is painful to watch his teams bumble around on offense then jack up a three. The next time you get to see Baylor in the LNC watch what he does during timeouts then watch what Kruger does. Drew will spend most of every timeout talking to assistant coaches while his players sit around and to to coach themselves. Kruger immediately gets in the huddle. He draws up plays, coaches up guys, and motivates. I just don't get how Drew is supposed to help his guys play better in a game if he isn't communicating with them.

Watching his team offends me as a fan of the game of basketball. lol

He has a 7+ footer... a PG that can not only break down just about any defender, but also shoot the three... a goofy white-guy spot up shooter than can hit about a 50% clip from anywhere inside the half-court line... Then on top of that he has about 6 or 7 guys that are all seem to be 6'5" and rangy to compliment...

Yet, they have no defined offense... The 7 footer spends his time fouling 50 feet from the basket, then trying to get a technical with his tempermental response (EVERY TIME)... The PG ends up just trying to take over the game and launching threes at will...

I could care less if they EVER win a game, but it pisses me off just out of principle...

Tech's crazy if they don't make Walker the head guy.

Southern Cal will be open, there's an interim coach there now. Some others:

Depaul
Washington
Washington St.

It is pretty amazing that they win as much as they do.

Baylor's defense might be even more atrocious than their their offense. Any time a guy gets beat they just foul. A guy get blown by and help never comes. I guess fouling is how play defense if you know you had no help defense behind you.

Mark Fox is headed towards his 3rd losing season in 4 years at UGA.
The one NCAA trip - they went out in the first round.
But as I said, that was the one prediction I was least confident in.

Sarcasm about Walker? I truly don't know. All I know is Tech is awful.
Forgot about USC.

Romar has made the NCAA 3 of the last 4 years and 6 of the last 10 (even including missing the Dance this year). He's probably got some rope.

Oliver Purnell at Depaul is definitely worth considering. I just saw that he's had increased wins and is only in year #3. And the dude he followed up (Wainwright) was horrific. Also, he got a 7-year contract 3 years ago.

I thought about Ken Bone at Wazzu too. But he has made the postseason twice (CBI Finals, NIT semis) and hasn't had a losing season until this one. He may survive one more year. All that said, Bennett was really successful before him, so the bar may be higher than I give credit for.

Of these, I think Bone is probably on the hottest seat and probably on par with Mark Fox. Probably a coin flip whether either of them keep their job.

What about Haith at Missouri? Will there be fallout from the Miami NCAA investigation that will bring him down?

USC will be open.

Fox and Romar will be fine.

lol, at anyone thinking Baylor will fire Drew. Would be the bonehead move of the year.
