That is a really good season. However I think this team should have been 26-5. I am not complaining but OU should have beaten Tech, La Tech and WVU. OU is a few bounces away from a 2 seed

I agree, but I think that we could have done one better. Kansas St. is a team we could have beaten in Manhattan. 27-4.

This post reminds me of Ron Burgundy's "With all due respect" theory.

That's a great season. The difference between good teams and great teams is the ability to overcome bad games. Usually experienced teams are better at fighting through them. We have the will to fight, we just need the experience to no beat ourselves. I wouldn't be surprised to see us have a season like that next year.

We also won a few games we probably shouldn't have, or easily could have lost.

Bama (down big early)
Seton Hall
UT Arlington
@UT (caught them on the road at the right time)
@Baylor
@OSU (caught them on the road without Smart)

We probably ended up about where we should have.

I agree Denver. It's always what could have been. There are always games we blow and then games we don't expect to win and prevail. If you'd have told me we'd go 23-8 and 12-6 before the year i'd have been ecstatic. Actually I am. What a great accomplishment for Lon and the team. And the core of why we were able to will be around for 2 more years. I honestly don't really expect to get that far in the NCAAs, because of our size deficiencies. But I hope the guys are competitive and at least win one or two. I hate to say it but I'm already looking forward to our size infusion next year and to see how those guys pan out. I'm so glad Lon's doing it with HS talent.

Why didn't you start your post with "eh?"

Keep with your MO. Someone posts something positive about OU, you say "eh" or "meh" and discredit it or make sure none of us are getting too big.

Disclaimer: You're not necessarily wrong in this instance or any other instance on a case by case basis, but you did forget the eh or meh

Good points and I agree. It goes both ways, each time you list games we "should have" won, there's always the list of games we easily "could have" lost. I feel like in the end it tends to even out for the most part. Definitely happy with 23-8. Going into the post season with a single digit in the loss column is a huge victory after where we were not that long ago.

The only losses that stick in my craw are the 2 Tech losses at home and the KState game. Gotta win home games and we just didn't finish in Manhatten like we have lately. We actually finished right where I thought we would in conference record wise and about a game better overall. I'll take it.

Agree. It isn't as if OU has had a ton of terrible breaks or runs of bad luck this year. We were pretty much split on tight games. That is the way it "should" be, but of course you want the breaks to always fall your way.

Too bad we didn't play at KU earlier in the season then get them at Norman in late February. We played them in Norman when our defense was really bad.

PM me your email address.

Once I have it, I'll start running all my posts by you first. You can edit, proofread, and tell me which posts I should abandon altogether.

Thank you.

You're wanting to do the same for me?

You can eh or meh the board to death, making sure OU fans aren't getting too uppity about things, saving them from their bloated feelings, excitements, and expectations, just like I can remind you of forgetting the eh/meh in your post and point out that the eh/meh posts are getting old. I have no expectation of a tiger changing its stripes. Or in this case, a Cowboy or a Horn, perhaps.

I know you brought the phrase to the this board, but that is a clown post bro.

Where you at when I'm one of the few posters that has a positive outlook on something OU basketball related?

I don't post anything on this board for any reason other than that is how I feel at the time. Period. Sometimes that is with the crowd, sometimes it's not. Sometimes it's a positive thing. Sometimes it's not. And honestly, I don't really care what you think is "getting old". You don't like my opinion on something, either discuss it, or move on. Posts like this are lame, and I thought beneath a guy like you. Guess I was wrong.

Oh.

I wasn't attempting to get involved in any sort of long, strung out argument over your curious efforts to make sure OU fans aren't going above your arbitrarilty picked level of fandom. I also wasn't attempting to illicit any sort of behavior change nor do I expect you to care. I simply felt it necessary, after a slew of posts I've seen that show a pattern, to point out/question what you are trying to do. I would suggest any follow up on this matter be done through PM.
