It’s funny bc he still was the best player on the court and had a good game

He was the best player on the court by a wide margin and there is not a single NBA scout that would say otherwise.

Trae would have had 10 assists if his teammates finished. His shooting percentage was down. He did take a few questionable shots but ultimately he did a very good job. He put the best defender in the Big XII if not country on the bench for most of the second half. That was game12 or 13 for Yrae compared to game 100+ for the defender. That is what scouts saw. They loved it They loved that he figured it out at half time.

ESPN wants there to be a debate about player of the year. Trae is still a unanimous choice by all unbiased people. He is the best freshman I have ever seen

Personally I think he over compensated for the fact his kid went to OU.

Was this the same guy that wanted.....

"if it's a foul, it's a foul and should be called"

in the Phog less than a week ago???

I still want the fouls to be called. If a guy drives to the bucket and is fouled on seven straight possessions, I want seven fouls called. Simple.

That's what their script said to say tonight. Their sole purpose is to increase ratings and make money.

Agree 100%

If one tunes into sports center or another talking-head program, then they get what they deserve. I tuned out of that drivel years ago.

Oftentimes, I have to hit the mute button when watching games on TV. That makes it a MUCH better experience for me. I have the tube on to watch the game; not to listen to drivel.

Does anyone really care what some TV dude says or thinks? I mean. Seriously.

I turn down the sound most games. One I never turned down was Vin Scully of the Dodgers. He was always interesting to listen to and did a great job of describing the games.

I suppose I am missing some good broadcasters because I don't listen much but I tire of the over hype of the herd of 3 to 5 brodcasters and their glamerous sideline reporters. And as a former coach I can't believe they are happy to have a quick interview in the early seconds of a timeout. ESPN is the worst and add to that their east coast and SEC bias. I used to never miss Sports Center with Chris Berman, Gail Gardner and George Grande. Now I never turn them on.

I believe the Scullys, the Red Barbers, the Mel Allens, the Al Michaels of the world were also more into creating a good description of the game than the cheerleaders we have today.

When I tune into a game I want to see OU and TCU play rather than having half of the screen taken by an interview of Patterson. Or on OU broadcasts having all or half of the screen dedicated to Jessica Coody while the game is going on. Seems like she comes on just as action is getting underway and talks forever. And why do we have to see her rather than the game. We can hear her without her being on camera.

And while my sound is usually off I don't mind Fran. I suspect he is wary of claims of bias for OU. I think he is a pretty thoughtful color guy. I am a Cardinal fan and while I am not crazy about some of their on air people I do enjoy Ricky Horton and Jim Edmonds. If you listen to them you understand more about the game.

That game was a disaster. The guys just didn't know what to do. It was like they thought every time you break the press you have to drive the ball to the basket, which led to countless contested shots and turnovers. We only shot 20 teams as a team, and guys not named Trae only shot 8. This roster was built to shoot the 3, and that's how we can beat teams. I think this will serve as a good lesson to the team, that they need to play under control and stick to the bread and butter.

Amen to this post! We never tried to run our sets which create our “bread and butter”. One on one ball with this roster will get you beat a lot more than you win. Hopefully the lesson has been learned.
