Absolutely you always want the arena to have a pulse. I can tell you though, as a player, you really don't notice the crowd too much once the ball tips off.
IMO it's such a fine, delicate line. On one hand, you need a crowd/support for several reasons but on the other hand, this team is a very bad team and not watchable for the CASUAL fan. I highlighted casual because bball aficionados are going to watch regardless. See, so all of us negative and positive posters are actually supporting the team and watching them. We just differ on what we type on this board. As I stated somewhere else in another thread, I'd definitely be at the games if I were in Norman or closer to there. I'm not. I'm at the bottom of Texas and it's not even close to being feasible to fly/drive for every bball game.
Oh and I never said I was a D1 player just that I've played with/against a lot and these days I scrimmage against a lot of NBDL guys. I had D1 talent but it never materialized. There's a long, tragic story behind that. I won't delve into it though. I'm 6'4 about 190 at my peak. I'm white but I can still soar like an eagle. Think Brent Barry. I'm also a dead-eye shooter but not like Rotnei Clarke when he came out. I never had that much determination. I've met the kid (while he was a kid) and he used to shoot thousands of shots a day. I still think he made the wrong choice in attending Ark. Anyways, I did play in college though but not D1.
Okay I'm bouncing around whatever little point I had...cvanginal or whatever, stated that people's opinions/evaluations of Abdul's talent were worthless. I'm sorry but Abdul = Orlando Allen. If you think that's the wrong evaluation, that's fine but don't call it worthless. Is it worthless because it's correct or because it's not your opinion? I bet cvanginal never, ever, ever played a minute of high school, college, or even rec ball.
