Baylor/OU TV?

Being young should Not be an excuse for why we played the way we played tonight. Baylor is just as young and has a monster recruiting class coming in next year. The BIG12 is going to be interesting the next couple of years.

Especially against a team that their top 6 scorers are freshmen and sophomores.

Basketball is just a game. It's taking situations like tonight and learning from it, and applying it to real life. Sherri is one of the best teachers in the country, when it comes to applying things like this. Just keep that in mind.

Sharane just looks lost on the offensive end. She has list her aggressiveness and isn't looking to take it to the defender.

Gioya is just in a slump. Sometimes those end quickly but we've all seen them continue for weeks at times so it's impossible to predict when she will get back to normal.

I think Sharane has been aggressive and played well in some games, but not in many of the games. I am really surprised.

Gioya, even though not shooting well, played well otherwise in a couple of the last 4 or 5 games. I do think she is letting things get to her mentally. We know she can hit those short jump shots she has been missing. It's like she is reverting back to the conference season last year. I love to watch her and hope for her sake that she gets her game back on Saturday.

I was very impressed with Little has great potential and is aggressive driving to bucket. Ortiz is a little firecracker as well no pun intended. She has a great shot from the outside and plays in your face defense. Both of them are only gonna continue to improve just like Nina! Her progression from last year is remarkable! And Niya had 17 assists!!!! Turn down for what!! Sic'em!

This was a disappointing effort. Baylor played well. But, we didn't really play at all. Baylor didn't force our turnovers. We just made really stupid turnovers. Even when we began to hit lights out, we weren't defending anyone. Everyone was wide open. I was only pleased with the performance of one player, Peyton.

Gabbi did some good things, especially shooting. But, she also made some really bad passes that helped keep Baylor 20 points ahead. Gioya's biggest problem was that she was taking such off-balance shots that I don't know how she expected to hit them When Gioya was playing well, her shots looked good. She had good position. She has been shooting from bad positions for about four games now.

It's time to sit Sharane for a while. Sharane cannot pass the ball. When the ball gets into her hands, it is a turnover waiting to happen. She is so uncertain right now. How many times is she going to throw that bounce pass to the post before she realizes that she never hits it? It always goes out of bounds. Right now, Sharane, my fellow zoologist, is the worst on the court. Her defense has really suffered in the past few games. Tonight, it didn't exist. Who was she defending?

Bad game. We can still win in Norman. We are twenty-five points better than we were tonight, and Baylor isn't always perfect from the field and the line. They got every bounce on some rather wild shots.

I see that we have our usual visitors that only show up when we lose. Let me make this clear. Kim Mulkey is the worst coach in all of college basketball, the last one that you want teaching young people. When she is an example of anything other than depravity, you have the wrong value system.

This is a strange conference.

Both TCU and Iowa State got beat tonight. Even though we lost we held onto a 3 game lead on our nearest followers.

And Texas lost to OSU. All of the home teams win. I really do not get that we have such a high percentage of home teams win when compared to other conferences. If there was any type of crowd, even against me, it would pump me up. So, is it just shooting in a different gym and if your shooting is off, it affects everything? Surely, the refs aren't deciding all of these games.

guys it was so bad I stopped watching with about 6+ mins. to go. I'm not sure about this team. One game on then they don't show up, like tonight. Something has got to change and I'm not saying fire SC, she has done a good job over the years but something is missing and I don't have an idea.

Boy it's obvious I know absolutely nothing about basketball. Thank goodness Peyton showed up tonight, other wise probably a 35 point loss. No contesting on the defensive end, and no toughness on the 50/50 balls. Davis is really, really good. I new she was a nice player, but she was the bomb tonight. The only bright spot as a team, is the kids didn't give up. When we got to 16 and had opportunities to get to 12 on back to back possessions, I thought they might make it a respectable game. We just forgot how to play defense and block out.

If the kids will come to play for 40 minutes, this team has the ability to beat the Bears at home, but they have to want it, and have to own the lane for that to happen. I still love this team.

I thought Sherri got out-coached pretty bad tonight. Kim had her team fired up from the first tip. She knew that if she didn't give up much to Kaylon, Gioya, and Sharane, they win. It worked at the beginning and she kept the peddle to the floor and we never were able to get back in it.

I expect Baylor to play us the exact same way in Norman.

I think I heard before the game that Baylor had won 8 straight against the Sooners. If true, you can now make that 9. The two teams I hate losing to are Baylor and Texas.

Norm, I don't know if she so much got out coached, as our players didn't seem excited to play in the first half. That's on them. You shouldn't need your coaches to get your motivated to play a top ten team, your biggest rival, and fighting for first place in the conference. They need to play forty minutes, Gabbi and Peyton were the only two I saw tonight that came close to that. But remember, I can't give Mulkey any credit, just can't.

I expect much more out of OU, and I'm pretty sure I'll get it.

Sherri getting out coached isn't anything new. I mean she's okay, but not in the elite class.

Having the team ready to play is just one area but I do think Kim did a better job of having her team prepared than did Sherri. I didn't think Sherri defended Baylor well at all. Baylor made three 3s. That's a total of 9 points. On the other hand, Baylor had 50 points in the paint. It doesn't take a Bob Knight to figure out that we have to stop the easy buckets in the paint. If that means moving all 5 defenders into the paint and dare Baylor to shoot outside, then do it. But, to continue to worry about the perimeter when we are getting killed inside made no sense to me at all.

On offense, I would have liked to see us go inside-out on just about every half-court set and try to create a few more easy scoring opportunities.

We let Baylor dictate the tempo, what we did on offense, and dared us to stop them with one or two defenders inside which we could not do.

Another visitor heard from.

I have been disappointed in the play of our seniors in big games for the past two years. I still remember missing free throws to let WV tie up the game in which we lost in OT. Morgan and Sharane missed five in a row between them. Pressure just wasn't in this group.

I was actually rather pleased with a couple of things. Peyton came to play. She made some mistakes, but even her mistakes were not all her fault. She put out effort.

Gabbi started very slow and out of it. But, she came on in the second half. She showed that she had the fight in her. She also made some mistakes that were silly. Both of these will be here for another three (and four) years. We have some guts developing.

Vivi has shown that she has the courage, if not the experience. She will be a presence over the next four years. Treece didn't exactly look intimidated.

It would be nice if they would step back and take a look at tonight. Mulkey likes to bury her opposition. I think Davis may have made the last two points for Baylor. She keeps the hammer down. Our team has not been doing that in the past couple of years. I hope they noticed. I hope it made them angry. I hope they learn to despise Kim Mulkey and intend to bury her. They can, if they will.

Part of me agrees with you Norm, but the fact is we turn the ball over too much when we try to bounce it inside at the feet of our inside players. KK has some trouble with that - but my heavens - Treece and Piere-Louise are atrocious at catching those. So keeping on doing that (until they are taught how to make the passes) will just create 10-15 more TOs I fear.

How many turnovers are made by our posts trying to pass it back out? I'm not so sure I want them involved in anything that requires them to pass.

I was really disappointed tonight. But I don't think the girls were unprepared to play.

The more I think about it it seems that first 15 minutes was filled with whatever it is that is causing Gioya to make all the out of control plays. I'm not saying it was only Gioya doing that - it was basically all of them - even the coaches for not getting it under control.

The question is - why has Gioya been playing that way lately? Is the erratic undisciplined play the 1st 15 minutes caused by the same thing? It was almost like they just thought if they threw the ball around it would end up in the basket. Really an undisciplined, out of control 15 minutes.

What causes that? Why did Sherri not call 2 or 3 timeouts to try to slow that down? I have no idea - but it puzzles me. Very few coaches let the opponent go on a 20 point run without several timeouts. Once you are behind by 20-25 points your timeouts are worthless anyway.
