I think it is a toss-up between KU and CU for best backcourt...but both have variables which are unsettled, comes down to how Sharpe plays and if Selby becomes eligibile. KU has more depth, but by conference the rotation will have tightened up and some of those guys won't play (much). Same could be said for Walton at Baylor (who I believe will be very good in time).
Best starting backcourt right now? CU, hands down. Burks and Higgins with a very serviceable Tomlinson running the point is solid...and yes, it is possible to have the best backcourt in the conference and still finish in the lower half. Whoever said Cam's production in high school is comparable to Burks' first year at CU is high off their ***. Anyone who has been around the collegiate level knows the jump is monumental, especially when you factor in the notion that Cam's district in North Texas is pretty weak (ask TJ Taylor, mentioned so in his interview). Cam will have a solid freshman campaign and will get considerable recognition, but Burks was very good last year.
Finally on the Cade Davis issue, I don't want CD getting the amount of shots it would take (for him, based on historical observations) to score 15 pts a game. I want those shots going to Cam, Newell, Taylor, Pledge, Fitz, etc because those are the guys who will be here in the long run...need to build off them. Cade is a heady player, I am sure he understands this.
