Best backcourt in the league... who ya got?

this is a great thread.

tough to have a very mediocre, or complete unknown, at pg and have the league's best backcourt. but higgens and burks are outstanding. it's a good discussion.

Burks and Higgins are very good but I think PG keeps CU from having the best.
I'm shocked ABD didn't say Mizzou with Denmon & English. LOL

With Selby it's gotta be KU. Star power with Selby and Taylor....potential in Elijah Johnson and Travis Releford....and 3 seniors in Reed, Morningstar & Little.

Morningstar? Lol. Men are from Mars, Morningstar is Venus (and shaves with Venus razors)
Oh btw he is literally named after Lucifer so if you cheer for him well I'll let you sort that out with the two guys on your shoulders in private.

Who ya got, sys?

right now, i think i maybe agree with cu.

if selby clears, i'd think hard about ku. tech and a&m probably deserve more consideration than they've received.

Morningstar is the best 6th or 7th backcourt guy in America probably.
He use to start.

Yeah he's the best 6th or 7th guard on a team in the US I'll give you that. Too bad they only play 2 or 3 at one time. He'll be a major asset if the rules allow for 12 on 12 games.

I think it is a toss-up between KU and CU for best backcourt...but both have variables which are unsettled, comes down to how Sharpe plays and if Selby becomes eligibile. KU has more depth, but by conference the rotation will have tightened up and some of those guys won't play (much). Same could be said for Walton at Baylor (who I believe will be very good in time).

Best starting backcourt right now? CU, hands down. Burks and Higgins with a very serviceable Tomlinson running the point is solid...and yes, it is possible to have the best backcourt in the conference and still finish in the lower half. Whoever said Cam's production in high school is comparable to Burks' first year at CU is high off their ***. Anyone who has been around the collegiate level knows the jump is monumental, especially when you factor in the notion that Cam's district in North Texas is pretty weak (ask TJ Taylor, mentioned so in his interview). Cam will have a solid freshman campaign and will get considerable recognition, but Burks was very good last year.

Finally on the Cade Davis issue, I don't want CD getting the amount of shots it would take (for him, based on historical observations) to score 15 pts a game. I want those shots going to Cam, Newell, Taylor, Pledge, Fitz, etc because those are the guys who will be here in the long run...need to build off them. Cade is a heady player, I am sure he understands this.

Guess the word "depth" and "bench" don't register with you.

Thank you!

When you are, for all practical purposes, the worst rebounding team in college basketball you can finish in the lower half of your conference with the best backcourt.
