Big 12 Tournament Day 5 #1 Houston vs #7 ISU in the final

It does show that when you have missing pieces it’s awfully difficult to beat good teams, no matter how good the coach is. I am Ok with our 3 conference road wins. It’s the 4 home losses that are bad. Win 2 of those and it’s a huge difference.

76-46. SWEET
I remember listening to a KU fan outside of the BOK Center in Tulsa several years ago when Tulsa hosted the first rounds of the NCAA Tournament. He thought Self should be gone if they didn't win the NCAA Championship that year. He's probably apoplectic today.

I hope KS wins it all this year.
I don't think they have the depth.

Hope I'm wrong, but being down to one true freshman big man that has hardly played this year and losing some of their guard depth, I just don't know. Considering that Cryer has struggled some scoring the ball (earlier in the season), and Dunn really hasn't done what they expected from him, I'm pretty shocked to see UH sitting their with just 3 losses. Team is tough as nails, I just worry about one of those second games one weekend, maybe somebody is banged up or has foul trouble. We'll see. Be interesting to see their bracket/path once it comes out.

When is the last time KU finished 5th or lower in conference play?

Also didn't realize until just now that Houston is signing Master P's son in the 2024 class.

Make 'em say UHHHHH

Can he play? His dad was a pretty good player. Got a look from the Lakers back in his day...

Top 75 recruit? He should come to Norman and keep Cooper company on the pine while Maks gets minutes in crucial games!
You keep insinuating in varying posts that cooper should have been given a shot by Moser to potentially save us during various losses. I have never been impressed anytime that I have seen Cooper plays. He has looked lost out there despite being highly rated and having shot well in High School. Based on Usan and Oweh getting play as freshmen I am certain if Cooper did good things in practice and had the right attitude and work ethic, Moser whould have given him lots more opportunities. Maks was a point guard and we were short on point guards a few times in recent games so maybe Cooper is deficient in the areas of handles or leadership/decision making skills. Or maybe you just wanted so more fresh things to use to rag on Moser

I agree.

But that is the problem. Cooper SHOULD have been ready to contribute by year-end. Nothing that I recall from his recruiting suggested he was a project. Finished project? No, not at all. But certainly not a guy that wouldn't even play this year. We had posters penciling him into the starting lineup. So either we have posters that just say things out their backsides without any basketball knowledge, or, again, we have a player development problem.

We probably have both if I'm being honest. :)

It may have been mentioned in another thread (sorry not sorry), but KU will be resting both McCullar and Dickinson in KC. Probably a smart move regarding the Big Tournament, but you rarely see the Bill Self "give up".
