Blake Griffin vs the Thunder

Green and Harden were big difference makers tonight. KD was bad for his standards. Westbrook had a down night too. I liked some of the things Aldrich did on defense when he was forced to play in the first half. That kept the game close. The Thunder did a good job of keeping Blake from having an open court to do his stuff. He had that one nice dunk early in the 4th but that was really all the space he had.

that second oop was ridiculous. any video of the first one though? fans in front blocked me because it happened so fast off a the thunder's first bucket.

it was amusing how quick the fans turned on blake. rousing ovation for his introduction to mad cheering when he picked up his first foul. if his teammates knew how to get him the ball in the second half, he would've picked up his first triple-double in his hometown.

Have an highlight video of all his field goals and most of his assists uploading on youtube right now Recluse.

Thats what I noticed on tv as well, he didn't get near as much love after the game started.

Weird that Ibaka would forearm Blake in the head.

They shook hands and were laughing and joking after the game at halfcourt though. Durant and Westbrook too. Lots of love for Blake by the Thunder players.

Blake is one freaking hilarious individual. Guerin Emig tweeted these during the game. :ez-roll:

Reason No. 1,984 to love Blake Griffin: He yelled "Sub!" at the scorers table when he returned to the game, just like a fifth grader.

Griffin checks out for first time, deposits mouthpiece in little pink plastic container sitting on scorers table. Seriously.

He got exactly the love he should have gotten.

TTFU!

not from this die-hard OU basketball fan. even as a thunder fan, blake, eduardo and willie will receive nothing but my unconditional support no matter who they play. most thunder fans don't share that kind of connection, so i understand that the love ends when the ball is tipped. but i'll never cheer when things don't go their way.

I cheered for both Blake and the Thunder last night. I wanted the Thunder to win, but BG have a big game. I clapped every time he scored (also to annoy the Pokes around me that were booing him).

I think you can be a Thunder fan and want to see our Sooners in the NBA succeed.

Last night was perfect. But I agree with Trammel's article on how it went. That's perfect. Give the guy a loud ovation at the intro. After that he's now the opponent. You won't see Thunder fan giving it up to LeBron or Kobe if they are in and we are a competitive team. So why give it up to Blake?

Did someone really bash Jeff Green in this thread? I agree that trading Green for a true big man/post is not a bad idea, but whoever gets Green next will be very lucky. He's a heck of a player in his own right and is overshadowed by Durant and Russell. His three pointers haven't been going in consistently this season...but some nights he looks like one of the best players on the court.

so yea....

As a Mavs fan, I had similar mixed feelings when I went and saw Blake play at the AAC.

It was weird, as I mostly just ended up rooting for Blake and cheering when he scored.
My girlfriend and I were in a box alone, so it felt really disconnected from the crowd as a whole (the Mavs fans are a pretty quiet bunch anyway... especially with the Clips in town). It was just a really odd sport-spectating experience for me. I guess in the end, I was pleased that the Mavs won, but it felt a little more hollow to me.

Agree. Saying Jeff Green is trash is just wierd. Anyone who makes a roster in NBA is good or they would not be there. And Jeff Green is the third best player currently on the Thunder roster. If he is trash then most of the leauge is as well which is just not the case.

There's a lot of teams Green goes to and is the best scoring wing that team has. And he's a solid defender and rebounder. A lot of teams would love to have Jeff Green. I like him a lot with the Thunder. The guy that plays his position happens to be the best scorer in the league.

I support the Thunder because they are our local team but I was the only person in my section clapping for him. Your reason about Kobe or LeBron is a joke and has no resemblance to a reason why myself or any OU fan would cheer for Blake.

The only explanation for someone saying Green is garbage is (1) you're clueless or (2) you've got some sort of personal beef with the guy.

One of the more bizarre comments I've seen/heard in quite awhile.

Lets not forget he and KD are really good friends.
