Bogus 10 Second Call Confirmed

The fact that lattin had to tip tap and fumble the ball around for 5 secs, we didn't deserve the ball. Can't stand watching him "play" basketball

That is a complete joke. The sooner refs become replaced with robots the better.

They didn’t reset the shot clock on change of possession. Called us for a 10 seconds on ISU’s possession basically.

That might have been the worst call in the history of basketball.

Yes! And I re-ran the DVR repeatedly (counting out loud) during the play. It was between 7 and 8 seconds elapsed time from the time that Lattin got the ball until the ref called the 10 second violation. TOTAL BS!!! The official who called it should be reprimanded.

Now, having said all that (and I was pretty steamed at the time, not only because of the call, but also because Lon accepted the call so meekly - - where's your outrage, Lon???) - - having said all that, it was inexcusable for James to stand 5 feet from the halfcourt stripe instead of dribbling the ball across. OTOH, he probably didn't know that the ref was fixin' to put the screws to his team with a BS call...

In and of itself, it probably did not affect the outcome of the game - we got a turnover on ISU and subsequently tied the game.

But I do not know if I have EVER seen such a quick 10 second call. Sure smelled like home cookin'...

The refs use the shot clock to make that call. Your beef is with the shot clock operator, not the refs.

They did change the rule a few years ago to allow the refs to rely on the shot clock. Before then, they had to do a manual 10 second count to make the call. I don't think it's time to revisit that, but it seems like maybe the ref should keep a manual count to allow for a review in case of a discrepancy.

They are constantly stopping the game to adjust the shot clock or for timing issues. I don't know why our coaches didn't go ballistic and point out this obvious error and get it corrected.

Not that big of a deal to me now. Watching us crumble at crunch time again makes me think it does not really matter.

Nah, it’s the refs job to recognize when the shot clock hasn’t been reset, too. You have to expect simple jack running the clock will fail multiple times a game.

TR said on the radio that LK asked if it was reviewable and the officials said it was not.

Tough call on the road.

Odomes had the ball 3 feet from the line with nobody in sight. Should have just taken it across. Was a boneheaded move to stand there and hold the ball and said did Trae.

posted that during the game. The shot clock was at 27 when lattin gained possession...

but yeah Odomes should have just gone over the line.

On top of this....the +1 with Trae at the end when he cut his leg. We had a game at OU where the opposing player had to go get his arm taped, refs stopped play..waited, then allowed the injured player to shoot the FT.

Yes, Manek made it, but we had to burn a TO to get Trae back in the game. Lon did get pissed at that.

Not sure why it was done 2 different ways...well, with bg12 officials I do, but still don't understand.

TR said on the radio that once the trainer leaves the bench to attend to a player, the player has to come out.
