"Buddy Hield went full on Steph Curry mode vs Texas Tech"

I have to admit that after the 3rd 3 pointer that Buddy hit from 7 or 8 feet behind the arc, I yelled, "$*&%Y#&% it, BUDDY!" from my recliner! :OUbball-logo:

That article says that Buddy was in "a special zone" last night -- but that wasn't even a special zone. He's a special guy who was in his usual zone.

I think its a rare thing for a college team to get a special player in their program. I'm not talking about solid college players who can score, rebound, etc or who have won championships... I'm talking about players who are just men among boys. A lot of players leave before this occurs. OU has had 3. 2 in the last 10 years. Tisdale, Griffin, and Hield.

Even in a game where Hield had 10 turnovers, he still had 26pts, 7 rebounds and 4 assist. And he shot over 50% from the field.

The Simmons kid is a solid player but he's not a man among boys. A lot of mediocre game performances he's had.

That is a fair comment in my opinion. He was good yesterday but not really much different than most games.

Agreed, although Wayman and Blake were known commodities, Buddy was not projected to be where he is now. Buddy became "special" player by working his a$$ off in the gym. Although, we as fans, were excited by Buddy's potential his first couple of years here, I doubt many envisioned the Buddy playing this year. Or at least I didn't!

I don't believe anyone envisioned Blake would turn out to be the player he was in year 2. I think that Buddy's jump from last year to this year and Blake's jump are very similar. Except that Buddy was big 12 player of the year last year.

I was just telling my son last night that Buddy has a chance to be "Steph Curry-like" in the NBA. Not saying he's on the same level, but the shooting ability is not that far off either. Shooting along with his athleticism and size (not taller but bigger than Curry) and handles make Buddy a potential premier NBA scorer.

Not sure why everyone feels the need to apologize or add some type of asterisk when they mention that Buddy has "Curry-like" qualities as a shooter.

We won't know until Buddy has been in the league a year or two if he can reach the Curry plateau as a shooter. But Buddy's basically already at the level Steph Curry reached as a collegian, so I don't feel the need to apologize for thinking he has a decent chance to do what Curry's doing now in the NBA.

curry as a JR (his last year in college) 28.6 ppg .387% from 3 .876 from the FF line .454 from the field ... 3.8 3PA makes a game ..

of course he was his entire team and had to take bad shot

If the stats on the internet can be believed, Buddy is one inch taller and about 20 lbs heavier. It will be interesting to see how Buddy keeps developing.

I thought both are listed at 6'4" and I can tell on sight that Buddy is quite a bit heavier.
