One of Cal's starting guards is leaving, Gary Franklin, 8pt. avg. Any interest? Think he is a FR.

Jeff was was in on him early. Then again, Jeff is seemingly in on everybody early. Kid is a baller though and I'd make a run at him. Although with his job on the line next year, Jeff will probably want to find someone who will be eligible to play from Day 1.

Franklin averaged 8.2 points in his first 13 games (started 11). He also hit 24 of his 82 3-point attempts. He'll probably end up at one of those West Coast transfer factories like Gonzaga or New Mexico or someplace like that.

I think he would be a good pickup and there should be a decent chance that it could happen based on his previous relationship with Capel and the fact that he could fill TJ Taylor spot.

He's probably good enough, but essentially we would have a scholarship held by basically a redshirt. It's hard enough seeing Osby on the bench, he would be extra difficult seeing this guy on the bench with Cal and Carl farting around out there.

So true. :ez-laugh:

I told a friend after the game Monday that they looked like blind men trying to catch a fart in a bottle when UMES threw that zone at them.

Can we get a gif for this?

If this kid transfers now, he's eligible to play at the beginning of next season correct? Being as he's transferring at the semester.

Unfortunately, no. You have to sit out two semesters, which would be this spring and next fall. He'd be eligible next mid-December.

Might not be too bad. We could make it through the non-conference and he'd be eligble to play to start conference play. Only be worth doing with a kid that you know is gonna come in and start and produce from day one though, with where the program is currently.

He might be the best PG available. He wasn't doing too bad as a freshman at Cal.
