Just throwing that out there...does he have the potential to be the next Cade Davis type player, putting everything out there, hitting shots when necessary, but still able to get to the rim when needed?

I actually think he has the potential to be better. He needs works defensively though; Cade is light years ahead of him on that end of the court. But he has enough athleticism, length and skills that I believe the answer to your question is yes. To me he does seem like a guy that is more suited for the transition game than he is in the half-court, unlike Cade.

I think we'll start to see Neal's game take off over the next year or two as he gets bigger and plays his natural position, the 3, instead of getting abused at the 4. Like someone already said, he's got a long way to go on the defensive end, but Neal brings some things to the plate that Cade didn't have...like height and more athleticism.

if he learns defensive rotation principles, then he'll be a special player. i have no doubt he will.

I'm not as high on Neal as a lot of folks are, I guess.

I don't think there is any way he is quick enough, or can become quick enough, to guard most of the "3's" in the Big 12, or around college basketball. He is more of an NBA 3 than a college 3.

I still think his best bet is to put on some muscle, and be more of a hybrid 4, then a wing. I'm also not crazy about his jump shot. It's lengthy, and he has a lot of movement in his motion. That typically keeps a shooter from being consistent.

He has time to develop though, and hopefully he will. Kid needs to hit the weights this offseason, and shoot tons of jumpers.

Edit: Just watched more film of his shot. The movement I was talking about, is almost a "loading up" movement.

Since you are comparing him to Cade Davis, in relation to shooting, it's not as if it will be difficult at all to be as good a shooter as Cade.

If you remember Cade as a Frosh... I think Neal can get there.
