Capel to speak about OU basketball situation today at 2:30

I can't remember the last time I have been this anxious to watch a press conference.

Basketball, like no other college sport, can rebound from one year to the next. Look at 09 to 10 for a negative example. What was a good team with the chance to be a great team became a bad team with very little to do with personnel (at least in terms of athletic quality). Likewise, a team can bounce back as quickly.

Not a whole lot to be gained by continually saying that the sky is falling. I am sure none of us are as aware of the state of the program than Coach and those actually involved. And I'm sure none of us cares as much about it's return to respectability.

Look forward to hearing from Coach today.

I heard from a very reliable source that Capel has been in contact with the NCAA and has determined he has one year of elibility remaining. Therefore, the announcment is that he will be player/coach next year to help fill out the OU roster.
:jcapel :woot :D

That's the sound our basketball program makes as it's going down the toilet.

yawn... we cant even get a press conference to work on time.....

Not talking about NCAA issues.

Tyler Neal has officially been signed.

Excited about where we are going. Sometimes you have to have things fall apart to get them together.

Not surprised at guys that have left. Guys that we have coming back are working.

There's a difference in the offseason and the approach already at any time last year. Players are very commited to win next year.

we will not fill all scholarships, will not give up to just have bodies...

Why didn't they do this 4 weeks ago. Seriously.

Only thing I have been thinking this whole time. He seems pretty upbeat; ridiculous that they didn't do this earlier, it would have stemmed a lot of the stuff that's been going on.

I'm not very impressed. But at the same time, I'm not sure there's enough good news right now that would have led to a favorable opinion.
