I have been a Capel supporter since day one. Everyone who knows me knows that I have sung his praises nonstop since he got here to anyone I meet that has any interest in OU basketball. Nearly every move he made the first 3 years I thought was a good one. I liked the way he coached, recruited and carried himself during that entire period.
But right now I am very dissapointed that he is not more visable. I can't imagine Bob Stoops, Roy Williams, Rick Barnes or whoever that is the leader or representative of a major program like OU just dissapearing when a season ends and not showing his face during a time when the program seems to be crumbling to pieces.
I know I am not the first person to ask this.
I don't think going 13-18, then avoiding the media during the offseason, then following that up with another poor season (which is very likely at this point) is acceptable for the head coach at the University of Oklahoma. There are a lot of us out there that have put much time, effort and money into OU and I think it's only fair that our head coach be the one to tell us when players leave, what the plan is for next year and major events of OU basketball. We shouldn't be hearing these things through Twitter or Facebook. It should come from our coach.
Come on coach. We are there through the good times and the bad. We expect the same from you.
Sincerely,
Capelfan
