Colby Daniels tweeet (Kruger Retiring!)

Timme had 30 offers, including OU. I remember seeing his name among our “big time” recruits list that slowly faded out of the picture over time...all too typical of the bigs who actually had potential.

Our coaches had to settle on tall, skinny projects who would occupy space on our roster for two years before moving on to greener pastures [pun intended because they were definitely green].

To answer your question, Duke and Kansas did not offer Timme. I don’t know what that proves, maybe nothing.

And I didn't mean he wasn't good coming out of high school, I just meant he doesn't really "look" the part. Man, he's good, though.

You are right. I looked at 247's profile of him the other day, and they list both Duke and KU as recruiting him, but no offers.

He did have offers from Illinois, Baylor, Zaga, Zona, Bama, Creighton, Florida, Louisville, Michigan State, tOSU, and USC, for what it's worth.

he is a super skilled 6'10 dude what about him doesn't look good ?

I think he means, he looks like a welder in a machine shop. He’s not physically imposing and doesn’t look like a basketball player. He’s a damn good player and very skilled. He doesn’t look like Blake griffin. He looks like he’s part of a village people tribute band.

I’m pretty sure OU recruited him and wanted him bad. For those asking why we can’t get guys like him, it’s not because we aren’t trying. Those guys go to basketball schools, not to OU.

You said it better than I could have said it. I hadn't seen him play at all before our game. When I saw him on the floor, I thought, "This isn't that intimidating." Then he went off.

We were after Timme a bunch.
Lon sure seemed to finish second a bunch. We owe Gonzaga one after we were able to snag Spangler in the middle of the night.

We were all over Quentin Grimes too. Both times. Big shot that dude hit last night.

Yeah I remember OU was after Timme hard. One of the very few recruiting nuggets at the time.

Interesting Tweet from Marc Spears in reference to Najera...the ties to Carlos Slim could be noteworthy too, in terms of potentially upgrading facilities and such.

"Ex-Sooners star Eduardo Najera has expressed interest for open Oklahoma basketball job, source told The Undefeated. The ex-NBA forward was the head coach for the G League Texas Legends for three seasons and has strong connections to one of the world’s richest men in Carlos Slim."

I don't think Najera would be a good head coach, but I do think he would be a great player development coach, especially for our future bigs. If that's enough to get a donation from Mr. Slim to build the Carlos Slim Center, I'm all for it.

We've have good tradition, and we have Jordan brand. We need the right coach and the facilities to take that next step as a program.

If he can get Carlos Slim to build us a new arena, I'm all in with Eduardo Najera.

A lot of people weren't sure about Howard either and he seems to have Michigan running good. Although he was taking over a program that was going to the Sweet 16 every year. I would prefer a coach with recruiting experience. Najera ended his D-League coaching record 16 games under .500

I would **** my pants if Najera was the head coach.... in a good way. Would love to see him get that chance. He is truly OU royalty. I am pushing for Quannas because he has more coaching experience, but if Najera got the job I would be just as thrilled.

If Carlos Slim is willing to build us a new arena, you hire Eddie right now. That is program changing for OU. He could never win a game for 3 years and still worth it. I think Eddie would do well at OU though. His job now is to find talent. That's exactly what OU needs.

I may be crazy but i agree with this.. $$ into the program could be life changing for the program... like Houston is building rn
