COUSINS TO RETURN THIS WEEKEND

“He comes in Sunday,” Sooners coach Lon Kruger said. “That was the plan originally and that hasn’t changed.”

Cousins was hit in the back of his shoulder after getting caught in the middle of a gang-related shooting. Neither Cousins nor anybody in his group had any ties to the gangs involved.

“He seems fine,” Kruger said. “I guess those things happen in the area that he’s grown up. It’s happened too frequently and obviously it’d never happened to him directly but he’s aware that it does happen in that area.

“I think he’s anxious to get on to school and get back to the routine.”
