Is this the time to let Crooms watch the game on the bench and bring him in later. If there was anytime to to make a adjustment I believe a game on the road we be that time....

I think we'll probably go with Grooms. I like the improvement I've seen from Blair this year though.

I would not see this as a demotion but, more of trying to get the most out of Grooms and maybe even some rest . I would like to see him and CC on the bench to start the game.

No. Blair played decent today, but he has been terrible much of the year. Grooms gives us the better chance to win. Cam and Neal are the two that MUST play better.

I think you have to give Grooms a rest at starting. Maybe it would slow everything down and make his play come along a little faster. He seems to really be struggling with decisions on both ends of the floor. Carl has been here for 2 years now and him being on the court early might help us at this time....

What am I missing? Grooms had 5 assists and 1 turnover today. He wasn't the guard that had the dumb turnovers today, that was Pledger and Clark, and Osby. Grooms is what he is. His offense won't improve sitting on the bench, or coming off the bench. We still have a pg problem, though not as bad as last year, but there is no fix for this year, or probably next year. We have to work around it.

I agree with those who say that Grooms should continue to get the call. I like what I saw out of Blair, though. He played very well today, except for that unforced turnover at the end of the game, which is one of the reasons he lost his starting job in the first place.

Carl did come in and play well today, but I expect Grooms to start every game this year at PG. Blair is a good backup though. I didnt like the fact that he didnt touch the floor in this game until it was already a blowout. He is a nice change of pace from Grooms because he is a different type of player, bigger, can shoot a little etc. I even like them playing together at times.'

Hope coach can figure out how to use them both because now that we are playing better competittion opposing coaches have figured out that they can sag off Grooms and help on Pledger since Grooms is such a poor outside shooter.

When you have a team that is not talented as some others you can make the little changes that maybe makes a difference. Starting is only a word. Letting the pressure be off for a game and allowing you to slide the kid in off the bench would be a wise decision at this time. You can't afford for him to bare the whole load of running the team on the court all the time. Esp, against the likes of the teams we have played in the last couple of games. Just a change not. a demotion. The change of pace is exactly the thing I would like to see...

Beat me to it. I was unable to watch the game, but Grooms' decision-making didn't seem to be much of a problem today.

Grooms is not the problem. Lon is a good coach and I expect him to get them to claw their way out of this hole and build some momentum. Shots will start falling and good things will happen. Don't over analyze every loss and don't set the bar too high this year.

Grooms is a good PG. Our problem has been getting absolutely no production from Cam and Neal, which is something we were getting during non-conference play.

I was at the game. Grooms played really well. Didn't turn the ball over like many of our other guards. And during the bad stretch in the second half, he seemed to be the only one trying to get to the rim or make something happen. But we probably should let him watch the game from the bench???? Rewatch the game and the season.

It's very clear for the fans that has been following the team and studying the game that Grooms was being recruited by Lon Kruger before he got to OU. This is a prime example of a coach promising a recruit if he signs I will give you the job, but what the coach fail to tell these recruits being an pg is the hardest job in basketball because you are an extension of the coach to carry out the plan. However I think Kruger counted Blair out before he stepped on to the campus, even with the turnovers Blair has proven he can contend with top 25 teams such as Baylor. Also, when we played Mizzu last year we played them better and did not make school history by getting blowed out by almost 40 pts. and the only thing that really changed for mizzu was a new coach just llike OU. However, we got to new players and new coach so we should have had the advantage. The game has been slowed down because Grooms can't make split second decisions and he is a defensive liability on the floor. The only time the pressure defense works is when we are not playing a top 50 team and even then it doesnt work. For example when we played Saint Louis we got out coached and played by a team that didn't have better talent nor were the players more athletic than our team. Take a good look at the games and study them very closely and you should see the game needs to speed up and you need a pg out there that can see the floor in transition and make the decisions that need to be made to keep the defense off balance. That is the only way Neal and Clark will be more effective and you all need to get off the gas about Blairs turnovers because Pledger and the rest of the team is killing the team with their turnovers, because they see the pg. Grooms only has a few moves to get the ball to them and when that is shut down we will continually get blowed out of games that I know we can win if the right line-up is put out there. I wish Kruger would stop taking so long to put Blair in, he always wait until we are down by 20 and 7 minutes to go and by then the confidence of the team is shot!
