Shot a ton of free throws... got 18/11 out of Darrell Williams, got 18 or 19 out of Olukemi, Cameron Clark didnt score, Pledger didnt score until there was 5 minutes in the game, Cade sat the entire second half, etc AND it was still a really close game.

If you would have told me the above before hand I would have guessed OU got killed...

Pretty much nothing went right for OU today and they still were up 15 and could have won.

+1

There's definitely a silver lining here. We would've been blown out by 30 a month ago.

For the first time, I agree with abd. OU is a better team. Didn't get the win today, but the fact remains

They didn't hit threes though, even little Keiton wasn't hitting. That was our only saving grace today.

Still think we will whoop them in Norman though.

Neither team hit 3's today. We only had 10 turnovers. Granted, seems like every time we turned it over, it led to a run out for OSU. They shot something like 18 more free throws. Cam didn't show up, Pledger didn't until 5 minutes in the game. Saddled with foul trouble the whole game. What I like most is that we competed in a hostile environment and a few things just didn't go our way.

I don't know if I'd say "everything" went right for OSU.

We probably had 8-10 wide open 3-point looks and only one fell.

We also played about as bad as I've seen us play in a while for the first 8-10 minutes of the game when OU built its 15-point lead.

From the Ford technical on, we played pretty well, but that was one horrid start.

OU is a better team.

So "the better team" was outscored by 21 points in the last 3/4 of the game?

I know it was partially out of necessity, but I thought the insertion of Honore to slow down Williams was a great move. Barry logged some really good minutes and really wasn't a liability b/c OSU didn't look to take it to him on defense.

Tyler has a sweet stroke, but he has a ways to go on defense. He needs to defend with his feet before the pass, not his arms after... (over-simplification).

Still a hard-fought game by the sooners and one I really wish they could have walked away with. We should take them in Norman.

I would certainly hope OSU's starters with the benefit of however many FT's they took could outscore our walk-on and other bench guys who haven't played since December.

How can everything go right when you start the game down 21-6?

:ez-laugh:

You know, first I laughed at this post just cos it was plain funny.

Then I laughed again b/c it's sort of true.

Adjusting to how the officials are calling the game is part of it.

I don't have any sympathy for OU in this game, considering that OSU is last in the conference in opponent free-throw disparity.

In just about every road game we've played this year, the opponent has almost doubled us up in free-throw attempts... that's just life on the road in the Big 12 (unless you're Kansas of course).

This is correct. Got to be able to adjust. By the time we ended the free-throw carousel O-State started hitting shots.

**** happens. It's life on the road. It's one of the things I loathe most about basketball.

With the up coming schedule for OU I think this may have been our last chance for a win in a while.
