Everything went right for OSU....

JP is one of the better slashers in this league, and he shot 13 free throws. He shoots a lot of free throws because all he does is attack the rim.

OU has 0 slashers, and didnt get to the line as much.

Pretty simple.

Agreed. And given that Clark is the only one on the roster that has the ability to consistently and effectively attack the rim and beat opponents off the dribble, this will continue to be a problem if he does not show up like today.

In fact,--and someone correct me if I'm wrong here--but the only possession I do remember Clark attacking the rim was along the baseline, in which he freed up an open 3 to Cade (I think). Bottom line, the team will continue to go stagnant like they did after their hot start if Clark isn't more aggressive.

Precisely, you have to get Clark shots early right now or he goes into a shell. There would be possessions where he would just stand on the right wing and not contribute anything whatsoever. Maybe it was just being a freshman, or the rivalry game, or having a physical defender in Olukemi guarding him...but he was taken out. Three shots total is not going to get it done.

I think Blair does a nice job of slashing and would call him a slasher....

Yes, but both lead to free throws. You act as if you can only get to the free throw line if you drive into the lane from the perimeter. Not true.

if you read the thread you would know why I said what I said.

I don't know if I'd say "everything" went right for OSU.

We probably had 8-10 wide open 3-point looks and only one fell.

We also played about as bad as I've seen us play in a while for the first 8-10 minutes of the game when OU built its 15-point lead.

From the Ford technical on, we played pretty well, but that was one horrid start.

So "the better team" was outscored by 21 points in the last 3/4 of the game?

your not a good shooting team .. even the paige who is at what 33%

And in your previous home game you shot 27 more free throws. That's 22.5 more per game average; that's some serious home cooking.

And let me ask you this: After which of those four games -- A&M, CU, Baylor and Tech -- did you not complain about the officiating?

You got a lot of help today -- that's a fact; given that, rushing over to an OU board to argue with frustrated Sooner fans about the game is lame. You weren't around here much during our four-game winning streak.

:clap:clap:woot

I'm just going to keep copying/pasting my own post.......

We have won 4 in a row because OUr defensive intensity picked up. Today we were stripped of any chance to establish a defensive intensity by the zebras. Right after the T on Ford, the refs proceeded to whistle OU for ticky tack fouls on about the next 5-10 possessions. All of the momentum and continuity that we had established while building a 16 pt lead went away.

A more seasoned/veteran team may have been able to adjust to the terrible calls, and how the refs were calling, but OUr young guys were completely taken out of their rythm. Cam looked lost out there. He picked up 2 terrible fouls by breathing on Olukemi early in the game. From then on he was deer meets headlights, IMO.

A win is a win, and a loss is a loss. We could have overcame the zebras, but any poke who doesn't think that the lopsided 1st half derailed us is delusional. OUr momentum and how we started the game, we should have led by at least 10 at the half. Page shot free throw after free throw to get the pokes back in the game, and kill OUR aggression.

We could have a tough month coming up. Hopefully we don't finish the year like we finished last year. But the Sooners have a history of finishing bad under Capel.

Yes! I won! Nick's posted the same thing on 15 different threads and I had a C-note on the O/U at 14.

Raising Cane's on me, everybody!

Damn, I took the under, I'm such an idiot, I should have known better!

Very well put.

:ez-laugh:

The OU pep band should play some dueling banjos when he shoots free throws in Norman.

I like the idea, even days after it was suggested. But the LNC Gestapo will probably never stand for it. :facepalm
