Fussell & Enemkpali Suspended One Game

Yeah, things not going well in Austin. Hope it stays that way for years!!!

Well, Karen didn't risk much by suspension of her leading rebounder and leading scorer, since they're still winless in the conference.

I'd much prefer they have their full team for all games. Even though they are a rivalry team, it's more impressive to beat them when they're at their best than while they are shorthanded.

Do they have any conference wins yet, or are they just like their Bevo brothers :p

It is not good that the Big 12 has gone downhill like it has. Losing A&M hurt. UT is down. Tech isn't the same Tech they used to be. KSU is down. No more Nebraska. OU is not as strong. TCU isn't particularly good.

OSU appears to be getting better. A little early to assess the potential from WVU.

Overall, I am not happy with what has happened in the league. We need for some of the teams like KU, KSU, Tech, UT, etc to climb back where they are consistently top 20 teams. It makes for better competition, better attendance, better TV ratings, etc.

The men's side is looking at six NCAA bids right now (according to ESPN's Bracketology). I don' think it'd be a stretch to say the same for the women: Baylor, Pokette, OU, KU, ISU and West Virginia. Depending on how the rest of the season shakes out, we might even sneak in a seventh.

That said, is our conference really in bad shape if a majority of our teams are going to the postseason in all of the major sports?

I don't keep up with rankings, seedings, etc that some people do but I would say that KU and WVU look iffy to me.

Big12 is still No1 in RPI. Part of that is Baylor of course but still! Baylor beating all the other teams in the league by 20-40 points certainly leads to the perception of a weaker league. Texas and TCU being so bad does not really help anybody.

I expect TCU to get better in basketball soon, much like Boise State is getting better at mens basketball. It was the conference-minded decision to get football on the map first, then work on the rest.
