Next year we will have:

Sharane
Kaylon
Kornet
Maddie
Ortiz
Edwards
Peyton
Wyatt
Kellogg
Gibbs
Carter
Pierre-Louis
Penzo
LaNeisa

That is 14 players. Following is a breakdown by position, as best we know.

PG- Ortiz, Edwards, LaNeisa
SG- Peyton, Carter, LaNeisa, Penzo, Wyatt
SF- Maddie, Sharane, Kornet, Wyatt
PF- Sharane, Kornet, Gibbs, Kellogg
C- Kaylon, Pierre-Louis

PG- Good shape
SG- Good shape
SF- Because Sharane will be a senior, we could use a top SF. I like Brooke Alexander because she is a bit like Maddie in that she can play 1-4. It is also a plus that she is great friends with Lauren Cox.
PF- I would also like to see us add a top 4. Problem is, we are limited by ships available.
C- Good shape

My prediction (hope somebody remembers a year from now) is that Ortiz will play at the SG position and Little at the SF.

Who do you predict will start at the point?

Probably Edwards or Manning. I assume you're wondering why I don't predict Ortiz as the PG. I think if she's really the creator and scorer we think she is, you put her off the ball to set her up. Think Vegas, or Dales the last two years.

Even though we disagree about where Ortiz will play, we both agree she will be a major part of the team. I might add, I also love to see people, like you, who aren't afraid to post their thoughts that might go against conventional thinking. That makes for great discussions!

I don't think my post goes against conventional thinking. I think my post IS conventional thinking. ;)

I was thinking Ortiz could end up playing off the ball like Vegas... but sherri called her a "magician with the ball" so you'll want to see it in her hands as much as you can.. Little played Guard at A&M and they lacked wing players, i think she be a 2guard at OU.

5'5 Edwards and 5'3 Ortiz would be a really small starting back court. I like Edwards alot and its still early but I can't see her being a 10ppg scorer and it seems like almost every season at OU the point guard position is one of our top 3 scorers.

Ortiz is listed at 5-9 which is taller than Vegas.

As far as where they will play. I haven't even got a clear picture of this year's team yet.

Many services list Ortiz at 5'6" but this is what her coach said:

"She's 5-foot-7 and jumps out of the gym."

In the great height debate, how about we go with the OU press release heights from here on out so.. drum roll please
Ortiz 5-9
Penzo 5-9
Williams 5-7
Pierre Louis 6-4

During an All star game both of the commutators said that Ortiz was really small and looked to be about 5'3 I guess well know for next season when a team picture comes out. If Ortiz is only 5'3 I still think she can be a star Jenna Plumley was only 5'3 and she was one of our best players during her time here.

I've known coaches to fudge and inch or two when listing their players heights, but six inches would surprise me.
