Want to wish all you Sooners good luck tomorrow. Really hoping you guys can continue winning. You are doing a lot better representing the Big 12 than we did. Have always liked OU dating back to playing sports in Norman when in college. Never have had a bad experience with an Oklahoma player or fan. And if we couldn't have Hoiberg my next choice for a coach would be Kruger. I truly believe OU has a good enough team to make it to the title game. Good luck!!

Thanks 81 - I was really hoping the Sooners and Cyclones would meet in the Final Four for another rematch. Those were some great basketball games...

Thanks 81. The Cyclone fans really support their team, and you have a fun team to watch. The Mayor is a fine coach and we look forward to many great battles in the future between the Sooners and Cyclones.

I'm not nearly as complimentary of ISU fans as some of the other posters on this board. I followed the Cyclones message board in the 2-3 days before the OU-ISU game at Hilton. Those idiots did nothing but disrespect our players and our state.

With the Cyclone players and Hoiberg, I have no problem.

You always have to stir the pot... ;)

I have no problem with most cyclone fans though some of them on Instragram are straight douches. The ones I've met in KC though are really good people. I always cheer for ISU especially when they play KU but I cheer for anyone when they play KU (well except Texas or osu :ez-laugh:).

Que pasa, BOB?

I'm sure you're right, but please allow me my low opinion of the Cyclone faithful. It will help me to get pumped when we get ready to play them next season. :ez-laugh:

As long as Lon and Fred are in place, we have a bit of a budding rivalry.

By all means, don't let me get in the way of your low opinion of ISU fans. :ez-laugh:

Too bad you associate all ISU fans as idiots because of a couple posters who hide behind screen names on a computer. My good feelings towards Oklahoma fans are from personal interactions with them, not from people who call us idiots on a message board. Just like any school, Iowa State has fans who leave something to be desired. Good luck tomorrow Sooners.

Good point. As an Oklahoma fan, I try my best NOT to associate all OU Sooner fans as "idiots" because of a couple posters who hide behind screen names on a computer.

I severely discount internet message board trash talk directed at other teams as an indicator of the character of the people in another state.

My good feelings towards Iowa State fans are from personal interactions with them, as I have went to at least twenty-five Big-8/12 tournaments in KC over the decades. They are good folks.

(Cannot say the same for Mizzou fans.)

I grew up with Iowa State fans. They're annoying like OSU fans (little brother syndrom) but they don't think they're better than they are like OSU fans. That makes them okay - and even Hawkeye fans pull for ISU a lot because of it.

The OU fans that are turned off by ISU fans are not the ones that are hanging out in KC. I can pretty much guarantee that. I've shared many good conversations over beers in KC (and OKC) with Cyclones over the years.

Yep. In addition to basketball in KC, I've had some good friendly conversations over beers in Ames on a Saturday, before and after some football games. I've been fortunate in that I've yet to encounter an ISU fan that was a real a$$hole. Most have been very friendly and accommodating. They reminded me a bit of Okies, in the best sense of that word.

It was not just a couple of posters, and the insults thrown our way by those ISU fans were some of the worst I've seen on any Big 12 message board. And that's saying a lot. It gave me a totally new perspective on a fanbase that I had previously held in high esteem.

I've always told my friends back home that Oklahoma is just like Iowa with less green, a few less hills and a couple of bigger cities.

You're welcome for Chris Allen and Korie Lucious. :ez-laugh:

Yes, I used to drink with ISU fans every year in Kelly's back in the day. Always had a good time. That said, they have seemed to take on a lot more complainers in their fan base lately but I am sure that is a minority.

Can you refresh my memory on the isu-msu screw job in 2000?

ISU had the lead late and about to upset and the ISU coach gets a suspect technical late which helped MSU take the lead. If I remember correctly...

That was the NC game that year.
