Whats the problem with that?

Conference Champions 7 times, NCAA Tournament 7 times, conference Coach of the Year 5 times.

What is wrong with that resume?

Nothing.

That's why I'm confused at all the negative criticism he's been generating on the board.

I think most have a problem with his attitude and on-court off-court antics. Looks pretty solid to me.

He is a grade A a$$hat, all 7 of his bids were via that powerhouse conference of the Big South... No wins..

Winthrop of The Big South Conference. No NCAA appearances at WSU in four years.

Won his conference every year in the Big South, what the hell else did you expect him to do out of the Big South, go win 7 straight NCAA titles, His team have better records each year since he came to WSU and I for one would love to be playing the NIT finals tomorrow night.

That is where we differ, I wouldn't want to be in the NIT 3 out of the last 4 years regardless if you win the tournament every year.

No we do not differ, I would rather be playing this weekend but we are not we are sitting at home wondering who our next coach will be, I would much rather be playing tomorrow night than to be sitting at home watching other schools play, who in their right mind would rather go to the NIT than the NCAA

Anyone who watched the NIT semi-final last night has to know that the Shockers are well coached. Marshall's team plays hard, they play good defense and they get the shots they want by passing the ball around the floor like few teams I've seen all season. Color me impressed with what I saw!

Someone posted over on Rivals that Joe is waiting for the NIT to end so that he can interview Greg Marshall.

I think Marshall would be a solid hire should he be the next OU coach. I am a WSU season ticket holder and have been since Turgeon's days. I think he is a better choice than Turgeon would have been. He has a personality that turns some people off but if he is on your side then you love it. He is not the most well liked coach among other MVC coaches. I think his personality would remind you of a mix between Sampson and Tubbs.

Turgeon certainly left WSU in better shape than what he inherited but didn't leave a great roster for Marshall. He has steadily improved the squad every year because it was a young team that has gotten older. This year was a bit of a disappointment they did not make the tourney as there were a few games they lost that they shouldn't have. He would be a tireless recruiter and his teams are well prepared.

As far as filling a roster, Marshall has been able to center it around 4 year players and plug in quality JUCOs where needed.

Another thought - wonder if the fact that he has been recruiting Perry Ellis at WSU would keep OU in the mix for him?

Bottom line, I think he can get OU turned around and competing for big 12 championships.

Winthrop beat ND in the first round in 07 and almost beat Tennessee in 06.

I agree with this, my dad, who is a graduate of WSU, was afraid from the beginning and through the Buzz Drama that we'd pursue Marshall because he took the garbage left by Turg and turned it into something they all could be proud of and I think this NIT run is doing nothing but help pad his resume...

The guy has won 28 games this year. Playing in the NIT title for win 29. I think he only has 7 losses this season. All at Wichita State. Not bad. Gotta hire someone. At least I hope Joe C decides to hire someone soon.

NO! NO! He couldn't coach a junior high team! Neither can Stallings, Jones, Boyle or ANYONE ELSE. Horrible Hire and would set us back 1000 years! Joe C doesn't care! Neither does Boren! It is all a conspiracy to screw OU basketball! I'm giving up my tickets! Must.have.big.splash.

LOUD NOISES!!!!!!!!!

Problem is Mizzou will target him now that they lost Painter. I doubt OU wins that competition.

everyone in the media talks about him being a real jerk???
