Hoping for a graduate transfer big

I want a point guard to be added as a fifth year senior if possible.

Darrion Strong will replace Walker, except I think he's a better penetrator and possibly a better scorer. We've got a lot of guard options at point, including Woodard, who can always go back there and will probably excell.

I actually think Jamuni has some pretty good post moves. We saw a couple flashes this year. I think him and Manyang will be a good offensive duo inside after a another offseason of work.

We lost 69% of our scoring after the 2013 season. We lost 59% of our rebounding after that season.

We lose 65% of our scoring after this season and we lose 55% of our rebounding.

In 2014 we won 1 more game in conference than the year before and 3 more games overall.

I'm certainly not trying to suggest we're a 30-win team next year, but it's completely asinine to think that we're going to be a terrible team because we lost 3 good players. Teams lose good players every single year. That's how college basketball works. Every single team we play will have lost good players going into next season.

Missing the tournament would be a disappointing season. There's no two ways about it. It's not unrealistic to expect that.

Going to be a tough year especially when one of our better skilled players is not going to play until Jan.

Grandstaff might be a little factor next year. Even if he is practicing with team, it may be difficult for him to get going midseason.

Mcgusty is probably the difference maker. Is he ready to start day 1?
I like Odomes and James but they looked a far ways off from Hield and Cousins and in fact they looked worse than Hield and Cousins did as frosh.
They both seem more on the Hornbeak level to me.

How will Strong transition?

Woodard got his by playing off Cousins and Hield. He is frustrating when he runs the show...hope thats not what we throw out that.

Spangler is the best player that no one tlaked about. Lattin or Buford or AK or Mcneace sadly wont match his production offensively or defensively or rebounding.

Gonna be tough year to be conference contender. Most likely middle of the pack, unlikely top 3, and at risk of missing tourny IMO.

It's a rebuilding year so its expected. Theres talent but it will be hard to expect more than a bubble team

Personally I think we could see some significant changes scheme-wise in how we operate on offense. Lon has shown that he will tailor the offense to the personnel rather than force the personnel to fit a pre-fabricated offense.

Grandstaff will be available in mid-December after the semester ends. He'll miss only about 1/4 of the season (7-8 games).

Kruger offense won't change because there is built-in flexibility. The motion we use allows the ball to find everyone on the floor in their spots. What we will miss as a few have pointed out is the part Cousins and Spangler played in ball movement and Hield ability to take and make shots. Others will eventually fill those roles and, hopefully, the other guys will develop enough so we can force teams to guard 5 on 5 instead of 5 on 4 as they did at times this season.

Did you watch James the last month? He was pretty darn good in the tournament. The only reason Buddy and Cousins played so much as frosh was because our team didn't have the talent. I don't think you can say Odomes and James aren't going to be good just because they didn't get big minutes behind 3 seniors and a junior

Hornbeak was much better than Cousins as a freshman.

It was known that Odomes has a bunch of upside. That usually means they are less polished and require more time to grow into the player the staff believes he can be. I think him and James will both be really good players for OU.

James and Odomes also didn't get to play much because of senior guards in front of them. If they had been given the opportunity I assume their numbers would have been significantly higher.

This is how is normally works. A lot of posters don't seem to grasp this concept.

Agree. If James had averaged 25 minutes/game like Buddy did his freshman year I believe he would have averaged at least what Buddy did, which was 7.8 ppg and 4.2 rpg.

James offensively is worlds better then Buddy was as a frosh, if he isn't a 15 PPG guy next year I will be disappointed - kid really has no fear and has tons of game.

Pretty funny but Buddy back then was our defensive stopper, with his length he could be a very good defender at the next level. Just hate how the college game with the foul situations promotes star players to avoid playing D in a lot of cases just to not have them sitting.

agreed. As is, he played 9.4 mpg, with a 2.9 ppg avg and 1.7 rpg.

Buddy freshman - 25.1 mpg, 7.8 ppg, 4.2 rpb

If you extrapolate Christian up to 25.1 mpg - 7.7 ppg, 4.5 rpb, and this doesn't add in the learning curve he would have gone through as the season progressed. He will still go through growing pains next year that Buddy got to go through as a freshman, but there is no reason he can't make the leap to double digit scorer next season with a full starting role.

I think everyone recognizes that this team has the potential to be really good down the line. We are arguing to temper your expectations for next year, because there is a realistic chance we struggle a lot relying on so many newcomers.

I just don't see them not making the dance even with the youth. I know they may start slow and pick it up in conference. I'm certainly not predicting sweet 16 but the ceiling next year is about that.

Tulane transfer Dylan Osetkowski has heard from Oklahoma, Baylor, Marquette, Maryland. Will visit Texas this weekend, Arizona next weekend.

Would take this guy but it appears he would have to sit out a year correct?
