That's a winner---on the road.

We held them to 6 of 27 from three (22.2%) and 33.9% from the field.

Little with only 8 points but became the 32nd Sooner to join the 1000 point club at OU. She did this in a little over 2 and one half years. Congratulations.

This was a game in which several had key moments.

Gioya stopped an Iowa State run with a layup on which she was fouled.
Just when it looked like we would be out of it by halftime, Maddie hit two threes, and we were behind by 28-30 instead of 22-30 at the half.
Vivi came out and scored the first eight in the third quarter, and we suddenly had a lead. I don't think we ever let them get the lead back after that.
Gioya got some key free throws. Peyton got a couple of good threes. Gabbi got some jumpers that stopped runs.

Kansas 60
Kansas State 73

TCU 54
Baylor 77

West Virginia 66
Texas Tech 75

You just don't win on the road. Last night, it was:

Oklahoma State 35
Texas 66

Baylor and Texas are 5-0. OU is 4-1 with two road wins. I think Texas has only one.

Wow! Fennelly was chippy at post game presser! Reporter said OU switched up their defense a lot. Did you all prepare for this? Bill looked stunned and paused for a few seconds and whispered loudly into microphone....YES! That's my job!

He also said he had an email he was keeping and someone later asked him what the email said. He said someone emailed him and said he should be looking for other job opportunities!

Could not get reception for the game so watched live stats. Good to see Vivi have a monster game. I was really shocked that ISU shot so horribly at home from the 3. Usually that is our achilles heel. I was proud of our kids coming back and playing a solid game and not folding when the Cyclones made a late run toward the end. Especially with the poor shooting performance from Maddie and Peyton, but they came through when it counted. 2-1 on the road and 2-0 at home. Need to be ready Saturday and keep our home floor against Tech. Hope the weather doesn't get too bad to cancel the game.

Actually Texas has won at Iowa State and at Kansas - so 2 road wins.

They did get a nice advantage from the Big-12 office in that 3 of their first 5 games were at home - and 2 of their last 3 are at home. I think just one of two teams were set up that way. It is a big advantage to get started with a bit of an advantage and/or to end that way also.

As you would expect OU was treated - like almost all years - with exactly the opposite with 3 of 5 on the road to start and 2 of last 3 also on the road.

Most teams that have to start with more road games are counter balanced with more home games at the end. OU and WV are usually the only ones treated differently.

3 of our first 5 games have been against the 3 worst teams in the league (Kansas, TCU, and Iowa State). We do have a tough finish to the conference season.

Was Nancy injured or just playing very poorly. Looking at stats looks like she was subbed early and may be never got back in the game. 2 sub par games in a row for her.

Yes was wondering the same thing? She starts then no sign of her. However I hope ViVi is back to old self- a post with muscle is a must in the Big 12!

Nancy had a couple of quick turnovers, and it wasn't a Nancy-block type of game. They were shooting jump shots, not layups. Was it 27 three attempts? This was her first game without a block, and she wasn't really grabbing on to the ball as a rebounder.

Vivi, meanwhile, was perfect for this game.

Incidentally, once we took the lead at 8:20 of the third, IS never got it back. Every time they came close, somebody made a shot or a play.

I think that Vivi was so dominant and physical down low, that ISU had no one to stop her. She was making everything on the glass, and it was smart to play her as much as possible. Nancy's time will come. Just glad to see Vivi playing like her old self.

Agreed.

I didn't get to see it but yes indeed it is good for her to start being Vivi with the upcoming games that are on the schedule.

Yes, agreed! Nancy, as a freshman, is going to have ups and downs. Next game is time for an up!
