6'10 Center of the OKC Sky, ranked the second overall prospect in the Class of 2014 for the State of Oklahoma.

Here are highlights of Hammond in action in case you missed them in the other thread:

Im not really excited about him just basing this off the video. Seems to play below the rim. Hope he isnt just a filler.

Who knows, maybe he will turn into a bookout type. I would love another round of bookout.

Looks a little raw, but the kid has two more years of HS ball to play before he gets to Norman. Needs to play a little stronger for his size, but you can see he has some coordination and touch, two things that are hard to teach.

Great get if you ask me. In 3-4 years, no reason this kid can't be a VERY solid contributor for us. Good job LK. :clap

I am excited about this get. Has chance to be great center that is around for a while. Hopefully we can get Jordan and have a PG and Post for the future. Hopefully a great start to the weekend!!

What if he is just filler? Still going to be better than the 12th and 13th players we've had on the roster over the last decade or two. And I think he'll be better than that. Keep in mind, he is just starting his junior year in HS. He is still pretty young.

Good point. Like I said if he is a bookout type im all on board.

However, I am not a fan of offering a filler that is a junior. Lets wait to see how everything plays out before we offer fillers (not saying this kid is.)

It's hard to try to remember this is a Freshman and Sophomore in high school while watching his film. If he were a senior I'd agree the film is unimpressive but this is a 15/16yo 6'10"ish kid who moves well, catches well, and shoots well. The strength and physical nature will come as his body continues to mature but the coordination is already there and that's what impresses me. Great get IMO!

Have read several national guys talk about his motor and how hard he plays. Couple that with Sam's comment about his development and I am very excited to watch him continue to progress.

I don't get any negative comments. I am excited and I think it is quite possible the guy grows a little more. He is only 16. Obviously a kid this big probably started developing a bit younger than most kids but I still think it is entirely possible he is taller than 6'10" by the time he starts college.

Love his smooth stroke. Looks a lot more skilled than Bookout to me. As WT pointed out the physical strength will improve dramatically before he hits campus.

Watch lots of film on Dirk, Durant & Lamarcus Aldridge and keep refining that stroke Jacob. You could be bigtime.

Great news!!!

Think about how far Hammond has come in a relatively short time. He didn't start to play basketball until two and a half to three years ago. If he continues to work hard and develop at the same or a similar pace, I believe he'll be more than a filler type player when he gets to OU two years from now.

Everything I have read says he is an extremely hard worker with a high motor. At 6' 8" to 6' 10" (depending on the source you read) and a solid 230, he's a big kid who has two more years to develop his game before he's called on to show what he can do in college.

I'm sold on this kid!

Let the deadbeats who are already dissing this kid go jump into a cesspool.
He's got great size, big body, a hard worker, room to improve, what do you naysayers want? Another 6'7, 175 lb toothpick who's out for himself.
This is the type of 4 year college player OU needs.

Very nice!! He's raw but he's got good touch around the basket. Great get LK!
