JUCO Williams

"His God-given talent and unselfish play have made him a joy to watch," Trojans head coach Steve Christiansen said about Williams. "He is the best I have ever coached and may never have another player like him ever again. Oklahoma has no idea the caliber of player they are getting

His stat line is pretty awesome! Only 20min a game and put up great numbers.

CT, you didn’t have to do much to sell me on Alondes Williams. Some seem to think he may be the best player in our 2019 class. I’m sticking with Harmon, but I think Alondes is going to really good. He’s a flat out baller on offense with the body to play defense. Next season is going to be fun!

This is why I’m guessing Harmon at PG with Reaves and Williams at the wing will be our starting backcourt..... and Bienemy and maybe Jalen Hill will round out the guard rotation.

Big jump in talent compared to our guard rotation this year. Add our 2 best players from this year in doo and manek and I expect 20+ wins next year.

I might be in the minority & don’t like hijacking threads but do people really think Manek is the 2nd best player? I think his attitude & effort has been disappointing this year.

I do. He’s frustrated. Wouldn’t say attitude and effort.

Manek has improved his game this year. He had that hot streak early last year when Trae was setting him up for very wide open treys but crashed along with the rest of the team.

He has improved his overall game and I feel he plays good defense except when he lets the other bigs get the ball in too deep. He is getting a good number of rebounds and is beginning to show some inside game but needs to be stronger.

I hope you're right....but I will have to see it before I believe (i.e. battered fan syndrome).

The coaches think he is legit! He was the second leading scorer and led them in rebounds and assists. And he has very good size.
Just looking at the stats and body size we should recruit his teammate Durham next year. 6'5" 240# and was the leading scorer on the team as a freshman.

Harmon will be a difference maker at the point. He can put pressure on defenses by driving the lane and scoring off of the bounce in ways Caluxte and JB were not able to do this season. Manek will benefit from Harmon’s ability to drive and dish by getting more open shots. Brady’s three point percentage increases dramatically when he’s open. He is not a good shooter when he forces shots with a hand in his face.

Brady is not the only one who will appreciate what Harmon will bring to the team next season. Reaves came to OU with the reputation of being a knock down shooter from three with a 45% average. Jalen Hill is averaging 46% from three. Alondes Williams is a scorer deluxe. His 27-2 Triton College team averages better than 97 points per game. Alondes averages 17 ppg and 8 rpg while shooting 41% from three in a little over 20 minutes. Harmon aversges around 38% from three. JB is one of our best perimeter shooters. He just needs to shoot more.

In short, next year’s team has the potential to be much better on offense than this year’s team. Except for Doolittle, I don’t have a clue how good our bigs will be?

Vbdad, I couldn’t agree more about recruiting Durham. He’s a stud at 6’ 5” 240, built like a linebacker. He was the Cincinnati Metro Athletic Conference Player of the Year coming out of high school, averaged 24 points, 12.7 rebounds, 2.1 steals, 1.9 blocks and 1.4 assists last season.

That is the type of "basketball body" that Tom Izzo likes. Michigan State seems to always have those linebacker-types on their team.

I’m ready for more linebacker, defensive end, tight end types! I’m also hoping our coaching staff’s exclusive experiment with long, lean, skinny guys with little bitty rear ends is over. They’re too fragile and they’re not tough enough.

The juco center our coaches are recruiting now would be a good start.
