Lattin Stats

I know this thread is about stats, but I just looked at his twitter since he had stats posted on there. I love seeing how much he talks about OU on there. Really looks like he loves his decision and loves the team and our school.

Coach,
Any stats on McNeace or Buford?

As one of only 3 practices watchers yesterday, I was granted a little chit chat time with Coach Kruger. I asked a couple of dumb questions before I got to what he knew about his 3 recent signees.

He rattled off Lattin's stats like a proud pappa. He said that McNeace was coming off of a concussion and was just getting started. Both Buford and his team, he said, were off to kind of a stumbling start. He said that he was confident everything would get going in the right direction soon for Buford.

Why would you ask a dumb question? You don't strike me as a dumb person.

My questions to Coach Kruger aren't dumb to me. But, I would think that they are dumb to him. He is an expert on the subject of basketball. I'm a novice by comparison.

FWIW - the movie "Glory Road," which features Dave Lattin as one of the main characters (the new OU signee's grandpa) on the Texas Western (UTEP) title team, will be on TV on the 19th, I believe on AMC.

But these are great questions for other dumb people like me. Thanks for asking and sharing. I really like the direction we're heading right now.

Tidbits from yesterday’s “Lunch with Lon” luncheon:

The coaches are excited about all three of the incoming recruits that signed in November 2013.

Regarding the late (April 2014) signing period for the 2014 recruiting class, Coach indicated there is a chance that OU will take one (1) more player as they watch the development of high school seniors. However, IF the Sooners do take another 2014 recruit, it is more likely to be a transfer, presuming a player becomes available that the OU coaches really like. Coach said another option is to stay where they are, which would give them three (3) recruiting spots for 2015. In other words, in the 2015 class there will be at least 2 spots, and probably 3.

If finals week goes well, there is a chance that the team could achieve an average GPA of 3.0.

Someone asked about the improved shooting of certain players compared to last season. Coach said that in 30-plus years of coaching, he has never had so many players on one team that loved the gym, or spent so much of their extra time practicing on their own in the gym. He specifically mentioned Isaiah Cousins, Buddy, Ryan Spangler and Trey Slate.

A bunch of credit needs to go to Coach Kevin Kruger and Coach Henson for working with those guys on their shooting.
