March Madness and Covid-19

It’s so sad that everyone continues to politicize everything. We can’t even come together in a crisis anymore. We constantly **** on each other and point fingers and blame. If we took that energy and focused on finding solutions, there’s no problem we couldn’t solve. But no, we just can’t.

So, the left and right point fingers at each other and play the blame game, as if any US government in the last 70 years would’ve done any better.

It’s tiresome and played out.

Probably. She lives in California. That would be my bigger concern if I lived out there.

Crazy how intolerant the left is. Maybe crazy isn't the right word. Ridiculous?

Wow. Hopefully hyperbole. But for general reference is John Bolton now a lib in your bubble?

Not to repeat what Steverocks said, but yes, I'm very intolerant of pure stupidity that gets people sick or killed.

You’re right, I’m not very tolerant of stupidity that might get people killed.

Like there are no stupid people or news broadcasters on the left! Give me a break!!! This petty, nit-picky BS has to stop! Some of you people (on both sides) are digging a hole so deep, this board will never overcome the damage you’re doing.

I get sick to my stomach when I read some of this crap! If you had devoted thousands (tens of thousands actually) hours of your life to this board in the last eleven and a half years, maybe you would understand how I feel.

Truth is some of you don’t give a damn how anyone feels. All you care about is getting your licks in while you can. There is no one to enforce the language, personal attack and no political discussion rules.

So, knock yourself out! I’M DONE!!!

Oklahoma has a way higher opioid crises than California.
You travel to parts of Frisco and you'll see it as if it were a show. And this right near the hotel Fairmont. And the same goes for LA. When something is so apparent, and some goes on behind closed doors, it makes an obvious impression on people and they usually share what they saw. I'm actually talking about some thing, which is quite sad to see, as children with dreams end up aging and living with so much pain in their lives. It is real. It is real sad. It is not a show.

Ok it is bad deal. It’s worse in Oklahoma than in California. As of 2019 California is 44th in drug overdoses per capita, Oklahoma has twice as many deaths per capita than California.

I had a point and it looks like it was missed. You don't see the needles in the street and person after person shooting up and people moving their bowels on the sidewalk in broad daylight and not be taken a back by what you see. I am talking about what a person sees as they walk down a street while trying to mind their own business as opposed to reading a statistic from printed material in the comfort of their own home. One is more shocking than the other.

My best man at my wedding was an addict. I’ve had many of my friends, classmates, acquaintances either be arrested, OD or suicide, or have/had drug issues. I’ve always left when it was coming out at parties or houses but it was always around even if I didn’t look. So not only do the facts back me up with numbers I pulled out from the comfort of my home, but I’ve loved people who’ve dealt with these issues.

It’s in the streets in daylight Oklahoma. I’ll have to take your word that people are shooting up in front of everyone on broad daylight. Doesn’t change the fact that it’s worse in Oklahoma.

You see similar things in most downtown areas of big cities. In Las Vegas you are literally stepping over homeless people laying on the street... Downtown Denver has a big homeless problem...

Also yall pushed the limit too far so NO MORE POLITICS in this thread or it will be locked and this topic will also be off limits ..

If you think there is a chance that what you are going to post is in any way political

Can we talk politics and economics in the "off topic" forum?

Death projections from COVID have been revised downward significantly. Yesterday, I believe the projection was above 93,000 in the US while today it is down to under 82,000. In Texas alone, it was almost cut in half.

I don't put a ton of stock in models, but I hope this is a trend that most of the models begin to project.

I’m sorry but that statement was not political in the least. If anyone had said what she said, left, right or center I would have the same opinion. Stupidity has no political affiliation.

But I do agree that politics has gotten way out of hand in this thread.

I think Ada tried to address something which has a most beautiful name. It is called shallowness.

Thank you, Boulder!!!

Great news. Hopefully the modeling holds up.

I hate to be the bad guy all the time lol, but that projection assumes “full social distancing.” We aren’t even doing that now, as evidenced by the packed parking lots at Lowe’s.

My reaction was not to a single post by you or anyone. It was out of frustration to week after week of bickering with “no holds barred” that produced a hateful dialog like this board has never seen before. That’s what happens when people ignore the rules.

Boulder drew the line in the sand this morning. Now that I know what he expects, I’ll come out of retirement long enough to assist him if the rules of common decency are broken again. Political discussions on this forum are over!
