March Madness and Covid-19

I view things through the truth lense, independent of where it leads.
California has always shot for more power over it's citizens.
They have now a big excuse to do it.

That's not a "truth lens," that's a "your opinion lens." That's also a "conspiracy theory based on nothing lens."

What Cali is doing is simply increasing the number of people and companies that will eventually leave the state. The people have been leaving even before this. Companies too. As somebody that recently visited Cali, the state restrictions and laws they have in place are almost cartoon-ish they are so over the top compared to the rest of the country.

I guess that's why the property values are so low, because everyone is leaving that oppressive regime! Oh wait...

But Steve ... I havent seen a study from you that shows the sun shines. Without a shiny sun none of this matters and you havent produced such a study.

they let you do that. If I try to do that without including a complete explanation down to the slightest iota I am questioned. and ridiculed. They can envision a hard-working doctor in their minds and they trust that image. I'm completely foreign to them.

When you make controversial statements about widely debated topics, it's only natural for somebody to ask for evidence. Medicine is an evidence-based field.

By the way, all state colleges in California will be virtual in the fall. They have made the decision that it's too risky to open the campuses until next year at the earliest. This decision makes me think there will not be collegiate sports of any kind until 2021.

I don't understand that. Accommodations should be made to allow for a more virtual-friendly experience for those that require it, but we're talking about an incredibly low-risk population.

Maybe to protect elder students, professors, and workers? That’d be my only guess.

And to protect the families and acquaintances of the students and to keep the virus from spreading rapidly? Makes perfect sense

I think professors and older students could easily be protected. I didn't think about the workers.

We are just not going to be able to return to any semblance of normalcy unless sacrifices are willing to be made. If the workers at a university have to be replaced by those who are younger then so be it. To preclude the lives of college students, which are thousands per campus, for the sake of the few is not practical. Everyone is not going to be served cake here, given the circumstances we find ourselves in, and eat it.

Imo 47% or so of the country wants to hurt the economy to achieve political ends.. if this weren't an election year, that same % would be willing to get back to work.

Canceling stuff so far out in the future is dumb

You love you some conspiracy theories. LOL

In the whole grand scheme of things society is composed of those who think they are just better than the rest of us. This is the daily ritual we all bear witness to each and every day of our lives. Conspiracy, no. People thinking they are the sons and daughters of Jehovah, yes. I mean whatever floats their boat.

I am very much on the left side of things, and I can tell you I sure as hell don't want the economy to suffer. I want the economy to change, certainly, but not because of system failure... nothing like this where people get hurt, sick, lose their jobs or businesses, etc... All of that leads to more depression, more suicide, more insecurity, etc than we already have. Nobody wants that, and none of the people I know on the left side of things want that.

System failure also doesn't allow the kind of change that people on the left want to achieve anyway.

That is such a mean-spirited accusation. You are basically saying half the country wants everyone to suffer, without any presented evidence.

And that's just two articles. Multiple pages with the same headlines as far as the eye can see.

The biggest problem is the people leaving haven't learned their lesson and bring their mental disorder with them to wherever they relocate. See Austin.

But we all know Austin has/had many more problems for many years other than just the bluebloods coming to town.:ez-laugh::fexas-logo:

yep.

you would not believe the people of twitter blaming the unemployment rate on Trump while at the same time cursing him for allowing things to start opening back up. unbelievable

Sadly, this is not a conspiracy theory. It doesn't take much common sense to see the political nature of the country and the virus. If the economy is bad, democrats think it gives them a better chance to oust trump
