Does COVID mean that suicide doesn't matter? Does it make deaths/comorbidities due to cardiovascular and diabetes dissapear? Did it solve poverty/our economy?

I know it's hard for a brain to juggle so many variables at one time, but yours is capable of at least acknowledging their existence, right?

I’m sure we can shutdown the economy over heart disease or diabetes. Or maybe we shouldn’t drive cars. Those things are real killers.
 
I don't understand people that are more worried about the economy than the accelerating pandemic. Here's the problem with that thinking: the economy won't recover until we deal with the virus, period. The economic problem is a symptom of the pandemic. If the president had taken this seriously from the start and pulled out all the stops to get the pandemic under control, we would already be recovering.

I don’t understand people that actually enjoy spreading fear and panic. The president was criticized by democrats for instituting a travel ban to China and for taking steps to shutdown as early as he did. Obama slow played H1N1. Many politicians slow played this virus until they saw a way to blame trump for everything.

His travel ban was a joke and was shutting the barn door after the cows were out. Since then he’s done all he can to undermine his own public health experts, put pressure in states to open too early, discourage mask wearing, and dabbling in nonsensical pseudoscience. If he had done the hard work to fight this we would already be recovering and ironically, he would be cruising to reelection. But he’s an incompetent imbecile so here we are.

Trumps travel ban was severely criticized. Not for the reason you state either.

I dont agree with all that. I had no problems with the ban myself and actually think he should be given credit for it. Of course it wasn't being done for this reason .... it was done merely as a way to be a jerk and have an arguable defense for it. It was a matter of disfavorment and not casualty control. But, he still should be given credit for that and I think it's a valid issue (their lack of transparency) to hold against the Chinese. But, again, it's just over his head such to even envision an amazing clairvoyance.

I agree with the rest of what you said though. He doesn't get a free pass for all the subsequent bull**** he's pulled and this thing in Portland is pure fascism.

Fair enough, I will concede the point and give him credit for the travel ban. He has still failed miserably.

Someone can say, "well I support him for his policies." That's all well and good until a crisis comes along like a global pandemic. We can train a chimpanzee to sign bills that come over from congress, but when facing a crisis, especially a crisis like this, you need someone who is smart, empathetic, and has excellent leadership skills. You also need someone who will put the best and brightest people in place and actually listen to them.
 
By the way, the Bahamas has banned Americans from entering. How embarrassing.

You do realize taht the US has travel bans in place as well right? I'm sure those countries on our lists are just as crushed as you are
 
Let me guess though...our bans are a joke and don't really matter but other countries' bans are needed and a necessity
