They can tell me if I have the flu or strep throat in 5 minutes. You mentioned you get your results back in 1 hour. What is the difference between the test you mentioned and a flu test? Is it that they haven't developed one? Or is it that its not possible?
 
i think it is a manhours issue. There are not enoguh people for the number of tests being taken

It is not a man hours issue. At all. The reason that some labs are inundated with tests is because they are being sent specimens from labs that don't have the capacity to test them due to a supply issue.

I told you man, I would have loved to test you, but I like my job too much lol.

The difference is that the SARC-CoV-2 test is a PCR test run on an instrument. You're talking about a rapid strep test. Strep is a bacteria. It's a totally different kind of testing. They can be rapidly tested for on a little cartridge like a pregnancy test.

We may never know how many of our members have decided to move on or stop posting because they don’t like what this website has become.

It's your fault Ada. You used to spend time with us. Now we're unsupervised and bored and we need guidance. Maybe if you played some cards with us and took us out a little more?

Maybe I phrased that inartfully, they don't have enough kits to test the specimens they have, so they send them to reference labs to be tested.

In my mind, "capacity" equals "ability" but YMMV.
 
And as for you bunch of trump lovers ... he made a mockery of his cabinet and staff intentionally hiring people with no earthly ****ing clue what they were doing and they've damaged and continue to damage our country. even his own crap aside (which I find unsat already) why don't you start some kind, ANY kind of justification of the likes of Betsy Devos, Scott Pruitt, Rick Perry, Jared Kushner, Ivana Trump ... do I even need to continue?

You can't justify it. You'll only make excuses.

This is where I am. I don't want people to die, but this is an unfortunate reality we are in at the current moment. Hell, my parents are elderly and even though that they are in good health, do not take unnecessary risks, and take precautions.....I still worry about them constantly.

I am optimistic that things will change for the better......treatments will continue to improve and less people will be engaged is reckless behavior as we move forward. But like you said, this is something that we are going to have to adapt to for the time being. We need to find the safest pathway to get kids back in school in the fall....this is a priority. We need to be judicious and diligent, but not overreact, concerning potential future increases that may arise in certain areas. When we begin to open up again, I believe it can be done safely and incrementally as long we are level-headed and realize/plan for the potential risks associated with this.

I’ll try to hang out with you a little more, though. You should know by now that’s not easy for me. Nothing I hate more than politics, political threads and politicians in general. Don’t forget who wrote the rules. ;)

Some people are all in when it comes to "NIMBY" even if it transpires in innocent people suffering at the hands of hooligans, but when it comes to their hood they will dance like they have ants in their pants. Oh the selfishness that are people for they are so good at it.

Good for OKC! I’m all mask mandates. I think everyone should wear a mask in a public setting when social distancing may not be possible. It’s a small price to pay for doing our part to protect older, vulnerable people or someone who may be at risk due to an underlying health issue.

That’s one thing I don’t like about President Trump. He should be setting an example, not thumbing his nose at following the current safety guidelines. The same is true of Governor Stitt. I’m not impressed with anyone who does something dumb because they think it makes them look smart or macho.

There you go, ABD! Does that make you feel better? ;)

You keep telling yourself it's about the vandalism. And when it was completely peaceful it was "all about the flag". And when your ilk was whipping slaves and taking rights away it was "all about the bible". It's always something else.

It is literally about vandalism. Public and private property is being damaged and destroyed across the nation. It has gotten to the point where statues of the Virgin Mary and Jesus are having their heads cut off
