March Madness and Covid-19

It is literally about vandalism. Public and private property is being damaged and destroyed across the nation. It has gotten to the point where statues of the Virgin Mary and Jesus are having their heads cut off

It is beyond lunacy to believe how this is to be acceptable for others but not for them. The double standard strike again.

meanwhile your hero is using brownshirts in Portland. this will really help advance the fascist narrative that you will be tagged with by historians. grats!!

Homeland security picking up criminals to question because the local democrat government won’t do anything about it. They have been vandalizing, destroying public and private property, disrupting local business, assaulting innocent people, and inciting violence. Also, they’ve committed acts of violence against law enforcement. Finally, someone is doing something about it. Hooray for LAW and ORDER.

I'm at Hillcrest in Tulsa today. They don't do Covid-19 testing here, they send them all to RML. My coworker at Hillcrest told me she called RML to find out why it's taking so long to get results and she learned that RML in Tulsa has a backlog of 6,000 tests. She also said that hundreds of specimens had to be discarded because the collection kit was specific to a brand of test kit that RML can't get any more. Total cluster****.

First of all ... picking someone up requires probable cause. I would hate to interrupt your blanket party with a cold, wet one known as the Constitution.

"Because the local government won't do anything" ... ? So the concepts of federalism only apply when they suit your purpose?? ["leave the masks up to local authorities"]

They're trying to do their intimidation with kid gloves, but it's still intimidation. People have a RIGHT to protest. If property is damaged there are remedies other than police intervention and criminal prosecution. Prosecutorial discretion is an important tool in law enforcement.

Men dressed in military fatigues are literally snatching people off the street and throwing them into unmarked rented mini-vans. If people cheer-lead this then I don't ever want to hear them protest "jack-booted government thugs" ever again.

In this article a man describes being kidnapped off the street as he was walking home from a protest. He was transported to the federal courthouse and asked to waive his Miranda rights and answer questions. He declined to do so and they released him at that point. Under what authority can they do this? No charges, no arrest warrant, no probable cause, insanity.

Probable cause, you mean like video of “protesters” destroying property and committing acts of violence against the police?

People have a right to protest. They don’t have a right to destroy property, to commit acts of violence against others, or incite violence. They have a right to peaceful protests. These aren’t peaceful at all. They are breaking the law.

Bring the very same behavior to their front door and you will be graced by people who have forked tongues. This is how they operate.

If they had probable cause and an arrest warrant, why wasn't he charged with anything? This is just intimidation and nothing else.

OKC’s City Council approves mandatory mask ordinance:

https://okcfox.com/news/coronavirus/oklahoma-city-council-approves-mandatory-mask-ordinance

Good for OKC! I’m all mask mandates. I think everyone should wear a mask in a public setting when social distancing may not be possible. It’s a small price to pay for doing our part to protect older, vulnerable people or someone who may be at risk due to an underlying health issue.

That’s one thing I don’t like about President Trump. He should be setting an example, not thumbing his nose at following the current safety guidelines. The same is true of Governor Stitt. I’m not impressed with anyone who does something dumb because they think it makes them look smart or macho.

There you go, ABD! Does that make you feel better? ;)

I spent a few days in OKC last month, and I will warn you that they were just as good at wearing masks there as they were in the NE (where it was "mandatory"). I'm not opposed to the mandate, but I also don't expect a miracle from it.

do you know what probable cause means? just because one protester committed an act of violence or destruction doesn't mean all protesters get arrested. That's not how it works. again, read the Constitution and the line of PC cases starting with Draper. that is unless your whole point is just to argue vice knowing the truth.

I'm pretty sure we have a thread already for you four to go in endless circles about Trump.

This is a really stunning statement coming from an attorney

And you don’t have a right to protest however and wherever you want

a stunning statement coming from an attorney? have you ever practiced criminal law? not sure how it's so stunning unless you know nothing about Constitutional Law.

Oklahoma is reporting 916 new cases today, 6 deaths. On a personal level, we are seeing more covid-19 patients now than ever. Our unit at the VA is completely full.

https://coronavirus.health.ok.gov/

And yet the number of deaths haven't jumped yet. I know you keep saying "it's coming", but I have my doubts. We should have seen a noticeable uptick by now.

you think death is the only bad thing that happens here? thats not smart.

Lots of bad things can happen from COVID other than death. Like being quarantined in your house all day.

Washington Posts stated that suicide increased by 40% in June but it is an absolute meh to them. They talk about side effects, yet which prolonged side effects have been proven? We are still learning about the virus from all sides. And if side effects were as onerous as they claim why not address this from the get go.

please stop being daft. you know damn well there are a number of other unfortunate medical outcomes from this. plus you also know that geriatric numbers pushed many initial death rates up.
