MBB TPT2 TRANSFER PORTAL THREAD 2

Good news is that a lot of teams have filled starting spots already and probably don't have additional suitcases to throw at people. Kentucky is a concern.

I'm sure plenty of teams would find a way to make it work if he is interested in coming to their school.

Evidently not anyone. StoopsBros post timestamp is 1002. Wichita post timestamp`is 1028. My math yields 26 minutes not 20 or 45 minutes but 20 is closer than 45.

From what I can see, SB posted within 3 minutes of the tweet. Hard to beat 3 minutes. Even if it was 45 minutes, who cares? The transfer portal is wild and we're not going to get everybody we want, especially when we've already filled their position. Optimism has not been high for Collins in weeks, so it's not surprising he went elsewhere.

He's not coming. We're moving on. It's the natural course for somebody without a personality disorder.

Transfer portal is empty, haven't you heard? There's no hope for us to get a quality 4! The only thing left to do is pout all offseason.

Lol yep, we need to pout more about the targets we missed on. The sky is falling.

That’s kind of a name out of nowhere, it seems, hadn’t heard much about us in connection with him. Looks like a very, very good shooter.

Have to think we're either not a real contender or we upped our NIL game.

Agreed, some Rutgers "insider" posted a video on youtube that he is leaving with NIL being the primary factor

With the State NIL bill passage and Joe/Porter making the rounds there is hope we are raising more funds. Saw Tennessee has 13.5 million in their war chest. With Cam coming for a visit we are least in the game.

I'll preface my opinion with two statements:

1. I didn't come here to be overly negative. If I thought the kid was a good addition, I'd say so.

2. I've never seen the kid play, basing my entire opinion on him on his recruiting profile and stats from last season.

That said, this appears to me to be the type of kid we were "left" to take when we struck out on all of the better options at the four spot. I don't even know if he is really capable of playing the 4, or if he'd be more of a big guard in a 4 guard lineup. He wasn't highly recruited out of HS, and his stats the past two seasons in college are not overly impressive. He hasn't really shown that he can shoot the ball from any of the three levels.

Seems like a desperation move to fill the roster and give us another "bigger" guard or small 4. Given that we're also recruiting the guard from Rutgers, it appears we're going to play small inside (4 at least) this year out of necessity. That alone doesn't condone us to a bad season, but most of the comments around here stated that we needed to get bigger/more physical inside (which we did to some extent with Hugely), not smaller.

Agreed. Seems like a worse version of Jalen Hill to me.

2 years in a bad conference, is a fringe starter, can't shoot worth a lick, undersized 4.

But as others have said, Moser's hands are tired with the lack of NIL money coming in. The types of players he's gotten this offseason are what OU can (or is willing to) afford.

I read an article by a GT site on his transfer portal announcement and it said he could play the 4 and occasionally the 5.

This is a status quo pickup, not a get better pickup. And this year status quo was out of the tournament…

I’ve seen him called a small forward on most sites. Between him and Soares, it seems we have signed a couple 3s with zero shooting ability, and they will both have to play out of position for us unless we sign an actual 4 with our last remaining scholarship.

So I wonder what the spin will be now from the folks who have laughed for two months about how many good fours are available.

I don't see how he could play the 5 at all, given his size.

I mean, you can play him there, but you are essentially playing 5 guards, or 4 guards and a small PF. He isn't a big dude, height or weight wise, that I can see.

One of the videos I watched called Moore a “slashing wing.” I agree with that. I like his game in transition and from ten feet and in! He plays with a high motor and with a lot of determination on defense and on offense.

Nothing I saw in those videos makes me think he can play the five, and probably not a traditional four. But, I like what he’ll bring to the game as a blue color guy who can score inside, even if it’s as a back up off of the bench (which is likely what he’ll be in my opinion).

From a stats perspective this is a bit underwhelming. From an athleticism perspective it seems like a bit of an upgrade....but that 3 pt % is DREADFUL.

His film doesn't look awful but it is highlights so you don't see some of the atrocious 3 pt shooting....If he is part of a platoon at the 4 maybe this isn't bad. Maybe him and Soares together manning that spot?

I'll be very pleased if we pick up Spencer. I could easily get on board for that one.
