MBB TPT2 TRANSFER PORTAL THREAD 2

And many teams across the nation also got there butts whipped by halftime as well.

The difference is a lot of our close losses were against top 25 or even top 10 teams.

We went 2-6 against the 4 worst teams in the Big 12 (other than ourselves).

We went 1-5 against the 3 teams that finished ranked in the top 11 in the country.

Like I said, WILDLY inconsistent.

It's not just him, it's him and those like him. You are right, that is a decent size group right now. Never meant to imply it was JUST him, but those types of posts (his "lolololololololol"), that does nothing to make this board better.

Posting about posts and posters' posting styles should be banned lol. Wayyyyy boring. (I understand the irony in my post about posting about posters posting about posts...)

Any word on the last scholly? We linked to anyone from wvu?

Mitchell has already committed to UK, the PG is visiting KSU, Texas Tech, and a couple other good places, and another front court guy is also visiting KSU. The only name I've seen associated with us is the guard from Houston Christian. I wish that was a joke, but it's not.

Nick Thompson for the new decade!

This discussion is just going to go in circles. Some people argue that every loss is equal, no matter who you play and then argue about quality of the win.

I lean to the fact that there ARE quality losses when it comes to a gage of where you are in the grand scheme and others don't.

Close losses to teams like Baylor, Texas and Kansas show that you are competitive but losses to teams like OSU look bad. I get it.

This team last year obviously was talented enough to compete with upper teams but bad enough to lose to mediocre ones. The inconsistent play, like WT pointed out was frustrating but I was encouraged by some of the games too. I think our guard play will be much better this year. I don't know if we'll see the jump we need from the post but I definitely think we won't see much of a drop off there and may see a slight jump so I'm hoping for an overall improvement. I think there is a chance for 19-20 wins. That would be a good step in the right direction.

Let’s say we end up with 19 or 20 wins but again miss the tournament. That would be three straight misses for the first time in four decades, and it would come with a roster entirely constructed by Moser, in an era when the vast majority of teams and coaches have to reconstruct a huge chunk of their roster each year. So if that happens, what would your evaluation of Moser be? Would you still feel confident that he is a good coach to lead our program? Just for perspective, Samson and Lon coached OU for 22 years and missed the tourney a combined three times. I’m genuinely curious what you’d think if that is the scenario. Personally, I hope that the standards haven’t dropped so far that people would then think that we should happy to have “improved” from 15 to 19 wins. And I’m not concerned with what people think Joe C would or wouldn’t actually do. I’m curious as to what people on this board think SHOULD happen, irrespective of buyouts and financial considerations.

It's tournament or fired for me personally. No "we looked good's" "we were competitive's" "we had good losses's". It's a results business, make the tourney or go back to Chicago. Black and white for me

It's who he is.

And it's why this place is a ghost town far too often. Nobody can say anything for fear of clown responses like this. Can't have a discussion. Can't disagree, or have a different take.

Sad, really.

LOLOLOLOLOL (couldn’t help myself)

sorry I missed this **** show.

There are 2 posters that are a problem. Everyone knows the 2… carry on. Feel free to hide my posts….!

Just a quick note that I mostly agree with the 2 posters you're referring to, but rarely post due to the absolute crap they receive for posting mostly reasonable basketball thoughts. I'm sure there a plenty of others like me.

I agree completely. There is no excuse for our basketball program to miss three straight tournaments. Especially since he took over a program that made the tournament more consistently than all but the bluest of blue bloods. I can’t imagine that anyone on this board would have considered it acceptable for us to miss three straight years when Moser was hired, so it’ll be interesting to see if they lower the bar if they scenario comes true.

Appreciate this. I don't know why Coach and some of the others who hate me and WT don't just call us out by name, everyone knows he is referring to us.

I totally get it if people don't agree with any/all of my posts. But in just about every one of my posts on the hot button issues, I try to present facts and make logical arguments to back up my opinions. Again, people can reasonably disagree, but for some, including some of the admins, to make vague threats to "ban" us for expressing reasonable opinions just because they don't share our views seems insane to me. And if the argument is that we are repetitive, are we any more repetitive than the posters who continually make excuses for Moser/the program and claim that we just don't understand how the world of college coaching works? And people are always free to block us if they really can't stand to see our posts.

This is a ludicrous post. I can't believe the LOL comments are so devastating that the opposition curls up and refuses to post because they are scared of getting laughed at. The more likely (to me) reason for a ghost town is a slow period for news and people who are tired of the constant drumbeat from the same negative only posters (and most of us know who they are). If there really are a bunch of wimps that don't have the balls to face being laughed at, then they must not have much conviction behind their thoughts. Man up and if it turns out that the criticism has some truth then apologize and move on, otherwize ignore it and move on.

Scared of getting laughed at??

That isn't why. It's because people come here looking for good conversation. Sometimes that is facts about who we're recruiting, who we offered, who is visiting, etc. And sometimes its about discussing why our once proud program has missed the NCAA Tournament 3 of the last 4 years.

It's okay to be disappointed with the current state of our program. It's okay to think PM might not be the guy to carry our program where some of us want it to be. It's okay to disagree about how good or bad a recently signed transfer portal kid is. Some of you want to come here and talk about some fairy tale land where the last two years didn't happen. You want to make excuses. You want to be really happy for our players until they don't get wins, then you want to say they weren't athletic enough.

Enough. This board is big enough for differing opinions. At least, it used to be.

Was trying to hide. You proved the point. Everyone knows “the 2”. You referred to you guys as “us”.

If you get tired of my LOL. Just think how the masses feel about your guys know it all post thread after thread.

I don't mind differing opinions at all.
But the constant interjection of negativity into every thread topic is why I stopped visiting the board as often

What I mind about you is this -- yes, you occasionally get a scoop or tidbit. But when you respond to criticism of the program or Moser, you rarely, if ever, offer any actual thoughts. Your response is frequently just a "lol" or some similar comment. I have never complained about it when you have done it to me. I simply replied to Sooner04's question, which was in response to how you responded to another poster's legitimate question about Hump. That poster asked a good question, and your response was to mock him. You didn't explain why you disagreed, or why you think Hump is a good coach or recruiter.

That has become your MO. If you think Moser has done a good job and doesn't deserve the blame for our last-place program, how about offering some actual reasons to back your opinion? As for know-it-all posts . . . I am not the one who tries to claim insider status or hype up my coaching experience. I have never pretended to be anything other than a fan. One who as recently as two years ago was called a homer and sunshine pumper because I was seen as overly satisfied with things under Lon.

Do you not think that the tone of the board is based on the state of the program? I'm sure the UConn board is pretty happy, much like our board was a happier place when Buddy and Cousins were leading us to the FF. If the results on the floor are bad, and portal recruiting is mediocre at best, it isn't "injecting negativity" to say that. It is simply discussing the reality of things.

what you are describing and what you actually do are not close to the same thing
