Groves could be a good role player coming off the bench. He occasionally did that for us. Unfortunately, we needed him to be more than he was. He will have some good games for Virginia and then he’ll disappear for long stretches and they’ll still be a good tony Bennett team.

Yep I'm happy for the guy. JG did everything right from all accounts. He gets to go to an awesome university and play for a hall-of-fame coach. Good for him.

We needed him to be more than he was because a lot of our other players (starters) weren't good enough.

I expect bennett to play him his correct minutes and manage him much better than PM did.. JG should have been reduced wayyy earlier than he was this last year. Im glad hes still not here to possibly continue to be PM's kryptonite and get too many minutes.

That’s kinda what I was saying. JG is a role player, not a starter. We needed more from him because the rest of our lineup was…not good. That correlates to our last place finish and the current state of affairs we find ourselves in

That is fair.

I think there is a world where Northweather is better for the team, but reshirting him and allowing him to grow another year is better for the team long-term.

You don't just do step back 3's as a 6'11" guy and not have some talent. So I would take 2 or 3 a game from him, if it opens up the middle for us to do work athletically.

But you had Tanner and a seasoned Godwin. If Luke wasn't quite there, it makes sense to give him time to develop. At the same time, I could be VERY wrong...bc this is all speculation.

But in today’s basketball Norweather, Hughley, and Godwin play the same position. That’s 40 minutes. Hughley is going to get 25 to 30. Who’s getting the other 10 to 15?

He may play 4 mins a game. But that’s ok. 13 guys can’t play!!!

Something is going on at UVA. They loose the kid from Nebraska, which is a Bennett type of kid. Groves is your replacement? They’ve been bounced 2 years in a row early in the tournament to add. They seem to be like OU, on the wrong side of NIL and transfer portal.

I may be wrong but Bennett seems like a guy that won't get his hands dirty in recruiting, portal, tampering, etc. and it's hurting their program.

we will see if they follow through on limited waivers ..


NOTE GRAD transfers were not effected .. . (so a guy can grad and then get a second transfer which i think is what Jacob Groves did )
