MBB TPT2 TRANSFER PORTAL THREAD 2

before his brother visited OU (which was yesterday)

and it has been reported that they have told teams that they are a package deal ..

other disagree with that ..so we will see ..

OU wants him to visit that is the next step if he does that is a very very good sign

If he commits and gets a waiver to play next year, that is huge.

Uzan
McCollum
Cooper
Tyson
Hugley

Darthard
Oweh
Cole
Soares
Godwin

Northweather
Keita

I like the makeup of that roster. Athleticism through the first 10 spots.

I think the TT Tyson kid, assuming he is OK to play next year, would be perfect for this team. Big enough to guard the 4 (its close I know) and a three level scorer (love his outside shot). Have no idea of whether his stats back up anything I just opined, but I thought he was a very good player when I saw him play this year. I don't know what, if any, options we have for a portal 4, but I would be happy with him. Never seen the wide out Tyson play, but he sounds pretty good assuming he has healed and rehabbed back to form.

BTW, is the Notre Dame kid going to visit or even consider us? Thanks.

BTW, it is really going to be interesting to see what this squad looks like when the season starts next year and also really interesting to see his rotation.

Want to see: 1) is hugley even close to the interior player we have been lacking for years; 2) who plays the 4; 3) can northweather or Keita play a lick; and what kind of rotation he sees on the wing.

I could definitely see us being a better defensive team and perhaps a better rebounding team (not sure on this and may depend on whether we have a decent 4 pickup). Just not sure about how our offense will look. I think the keys will be finding a decent 4 man, and good development from Uzon and Oweh. Wild card may be Cooper being better and more ready to play than expected. His film looks great but you know how that goes.

would hope and expect that OU could beat the NIL package from Cal for Jaylon Tyson, but I really don't know anything!

Doesn’t need a waiver. Coach was fired.

The NCAA specifically said a coach getting fired isn't a reason for a free second transfer.

I have doubts they'll actually stand behind what they said, but they did say it.

Yep, whether they stand by that in every case remains to be seen but it was said. It's also been brought up on other boards whether or not he is a take based on this potential loophole because otherwise he'll most likely have to sit out.

So this is much ado about nothing basically. Even if we get him he's not eligible.

Not necessarily but there is a chance he will have to sit out given this is his 2nd transfer and he is not a grad transfer. It depends on if/when the NCAA is going to actually put an end to kids transferring freely more than once without being a grad transfer. His coach was fired but that happens all the time. Others leave for other jobs. The question is when does it end? I assume OU thinks they have a good shot at getting the waiver but it's not a given he'll get one in this case.

as coach said why was his coach fired ..

there will always be some exceptions no matter the NCAA policy ..

Honest question. Why does it matter why the coach was fired? Beard was fired for alleged domestic abuse. What does that have to do with the players and why would that lead to a free transfer? So if a coach was fired for losing a bunch of games that wouldn’t trigger free transfers? It makes no sense.

You just want to argue. Which is fine.

Why do a lot of things matter?

That’s ok if you don’t know what he was fired.

Like I said just passing along info.
