MBB TPT2 TRANSFER PORTAL THREAD 2

Yeah, Hill is irreplaceable. Every blue blood in the country was drooling over him...like UNLV.

Love Jalen Hill but he is absolutely replaceable. He’s plays good defense but is average to below average on offense.

What about Morris is scary other than his past 5* status? He has baggage too. I am pretty surprised how mediocre ku has done in the portal so far. NIL era might have leveled the playing field for egregious cheaters like ku.

They have lost more talent than they have acquired so far this year. Their 2 portal guys are rated lower than McCollum. So that is either a mediocre class or OU’s class is quite good.

I guess I don’t understand why you were so anti-Traore based on his freshman stats yet willing to give the benefit of the doubt to Morris. Both 5 stars freshmen who played behind better, more experienced players. Traore doesn’t have a history of domestic abuse either.

They haven’t lost a single player who played meaningful minutes and have already brought in two guys who almost certainly will be in their rotation. And your “so far” qualifier is a big one. Whether it is Dickinson or someone else, do you really doubt they will land at least one more stud?

And who said I’m down on our guys? I don’t see Soares as a great get, but like all the others. I’m extremely concerned about whether we will land a good four. As for Traore, I think where he ended up speaks volumes. Unless UCSB is suddenly flush with cash for basketball players, I imagine he ended up there because he didn’t have many suitors. And to compare him to Morris … Morris was a very good player the last month of the season.

There should be a rule that nobody can transfer to Kansas.

Any of our insiders know how we're sitting with Keshad Johnson? Looks like he's taken both of his planned visits (OU and USC).

Volume shooter and not high efficiency. Lots of turnovers Shot 36% from the floor last year -- overall -- and only 39% from 2 point range. No thank you. Not that I want to get back into the "shooting %" thread, but at this point, with the guards we've taken, I'd like someone who can finish more effectively and hit an outside shot if necessary.

Jeff Goodman reports that OU, Tech, and WSU are among the schools to contact him. His numbers are scary -- a very poor shooter with awful efficiency numbers. I like his size, but he didn't rebound very well. He was such a high volume shooter, and has played in terrible leagues. I wonder how his game would possibly translate to being a role player in the best league in America. Maybe there is something there that the stats don't show, but seems like a poor fit.

A couple somewhat interesting tidbits in Bob P's latest article. He floated the idea that they may save one of the two remaining scholarships, which would make zero sense. He also mentioned that Moser may be coaching for his job this season.

No real update on Johnson, other than saying again that he thinks it is down to OU and USC. He did emphasize that they need to land a four because they don't currently have one on the roster.

I think it makes sense. When you have this much turnover, there is no way you can recruit a roster where people are going to be happy being at the end of the bench. Outside of a starting 4, we probably have the guys that are going to play on our roster. You could recruit a HS kid to come and sit and develop maybe, but what Portal kid is going to want to do that?

And yeah, he BETTER be coaching for him job. I'm tired of him ruining what used to be something that I enjoyed.

I think most on here...being on either side of the Moser argument would agree with that.

we can't keep replacing 5-6 guys every year....or miss the tournament.
