Said it in the J Hill thread… most of these guys will NOT play pro ball…

So with NIL, why not try and make 100-400k for a yr or two if D1 college ball.

Get out of school with a degree and 100 -400 thousand in the bank. Helluva a starting life nest egg.

So I’d take Johnson over Hill in a dunk contest. Much like I would take Marvin Johnson or Bam or any number of guys. As a basketball player? I mean, if he were that good offensively, he would have played more than 22 minutes per game, seeing as how SD State desperately needed more offense. And Hill is an absolutely elite defender, so Johnson isn’t going to be much/any better on that end.

Yeah, Hill is irreplaceable. Every blue blood in the country was drooling over him...like UNLV.

I've heard numbers from 50K - 500K. The numbers cited are mostly random, but have trended drastically downward over time. The one thing that everybody agrees on, though, is that schools like KU and UT pay their starters more than UNLV.

Having said that, I do believe that UNLV offered him more money than KU. Partially because I'm not sure they were even interested. The other part is that I doubt they're paying big money for somebody to be McCullar's backup and play 10 minutes a game.

Good for Jalen if true. Just like with Keshad Johnson … people need to realize that not all players are going to go to the best school recruiting them. Same is true for high school players. But I’m sure some of the people who dislike Hill’s game will continue acting like UNLV was the best program who wanted him.

Your guess is wrong on both accounts, as I liked Hill and full-heartedly acknowledge that UNLV isn't the best program that wanted him. I'm sure there were plenty of top 25 programs that wanted him on their bench.

What about Morris is scary other than his past 5* status? He has baggage too. I am pretty surprised how mediocre ku has done in the portal so far. NIL era might have leveled the playing field for egregious cheaters like ku.

They got Kevin McCullar last season and had no additional needs because they didn’t have anyone transfer out, plus they had three incoming freshmen, and are the favorites to land the best player in the portal this season. That’s mediocre?

As for Morris, what scares me is that he will now being playing for Bill Self. I think he may have done a decent job developing a guard or two in his time.

They have lost more talent than they have acquired so far this year. Their 2 portal guys are rated lower than McCollum. So that is either a mediocre class or OU’s class is quite good.

I guess I don’t understand why you were so anti-Traore based on his freshman stats yet willing to give the benefit of the doubt to Morris. Both 5 stars freshmen who played behind better, more experienced players. Traore doesn’t have a history of domestic abuse either.

Self employment taxes suck… that is my gross, it’s a part time gig. My brother, cpa does my taxes.
