MBB TPT2 TRANSFER PORTAL THREAD 2

I'm just guessing that Darthard will be a 3-5ppg at best and play defense.. again this is playing limited minutes being the 5th or 6th guard on our team. So, very similar to Cortes at the end of the day in terms of production.

Hot take.

Hot take.

Not really, but most ppl on the board thought Joe Bam and Marvin Johnson were dudes and good at basketball. That was not the case.. and I had a pretty good feeling about those two. We have brought in how many transfers??

Darthard
Soares
McCollum
Hugley
plus 1 more for sure

Odds are we will miss on one of those and or 1-2 will be the 9th-10th dude with very limited minutes and not put up any stats. I want to believe all of our new guys will be good/great, but out of the ones we have signed, Darthard is the guy I like the least.

Im guessing there are 250 4men out there.

And? How many of them are good? How many of them do we have a chance to land? I guess if you are fine with just having a warm body out there and don't care if we end up 5-13 again, sure, we can just plug and play any number of guys. But as of a couple days ago, you and others were talking about Johnson and/or a big surprise. Now it looks like neither and you are downplaying it by acting like basically anyone can fill the spot.

Both didn’t play much because of how they play defense. That doesn’t seem to be Darthard’s problem.

I don't think it is that much of a hot take either. I don't think I'd say we will have that limited of minutes but around 5 ppg doesn't sound unrealistic

I agree (Marvin got in trouble off the court, also). When Marvin got extended minutes later in the year, ou played better overall.

Cortes was also a poor defender. Primary reason why he needed to drop down a level in competition imo.

From what I've seen, Darthard might be better than Oweh. Before everyone loses their mind, Owen earned minutes last year by providing athleticism that the other jokers didn't have. It looks as though this group will be much more athletic, so for Oweh to differentiate himself, he'll need to improve quite a bit skill wise. I know it's a highlight tape, but Darthard shows much more skill than Oweh has to this point.

It won’t be surprising if Owen is a reserve.

Would he be a good addition and any chance for him?

Bandaogo put up decent numbers in the NIT post season against good competition.
Does OU have among returnees someone better?

He's better than anyone returning (definitely more athletic). But, he transferred to UVU last year and I'm not sure he'd be a lock to be immediately eligible.

may be why he mentioned "mental health" in his announcement?

you can still use mental health I believe as one of the reasons to transfer more than once.

Yeah, I'm sure it is. If he was unable to acquire a waiver, he'd have at least one year of eligibility. He'd have two if he did not redshirt while at Akron.

Probably a guaranteed starting spot at OU. Texas is loaded in the front court.
