NBA Guys On This Team

Manek will with normal progression. Mcgusty and James can if they continue to develop. Doolittle if he becomes dominant as a 3. Muni thru the g league. Trae if he wins the natty :D

For f— sake.

What? You want him to start for a year before being compared to the best defensive center in the nba? Have some team spirit.

I'm just saying...McNeace reminds me of him...and so far this year, McNease's numbers are better than Jordan's were in college.

Big frame, super athletic, rebounding and block master

He’s averaging a point and a rebound less as a redshirt junior and deandre did it as a true freshman. And I wouldn’t exactly call jumani’s frame large.

Outside of TY I had a hard time 100% committing to anyone else, but I would say Manek and Odomes have upside in that Brady is what...6'9" and can shoot from deep. Someone will take a chance on him to be a small role player who shoots 3's. Rashard is interesting. He's 6'6-7" but doesn't really shoot that well from outside. Not sure if his slashing ability is good enough at the NBA level but what helps him is we seem to be comfortable having him guard 1-4, pretty versatile. If he can guard the 1-3 at the NBA level, he can make a roster I think in two years as maybe a 11th-12th man. Money has some polishing to do but he is freaky athletic and can protect the rim most nights.

I guess if a team wants to spend time to develop Odomes as a defensive stopper he has a chance. I just cant see it though. He has almost no ability to score the ball. Other than TY, Manek and Doolittle are the only ones with a shot.

It's a bit premature to be ruling out sophomores and juniors.

As a sophomore, Stacy King didn't seem NBA-bound, either. Heck, neither did Buddy Hield.

I thought Buddy looked like a prospect even as a 25% shooting freshman.

our FF team only had 1 guy...

the other FF team had 3, Mookie, King, Grant..only Mookie had a "very good" nba career. King lucked out with the bulls and got 3 rings I think...lol.

TY at THIS time...Manek, 6-8 shoots the 3..Maybe Doo and McGusty...eventually.

Many of us were excited about his potential as a freshman; few, if any, were posting at the time that he was NBA-bound.

I got really excited against NWst I think it was. The ball got to brady on the wing and he was ready to shoot but they gave him a lane and he took it. When he dunked it he had this look on his face. I swear it reminded me of Bird. If he could get an attitude and do that more often he has the skills to be a very good pro. Bird, Tony Kukoc ... I can think of a lot of good pros with his physical abilities and skills. Manek just needs to get mean.

If he can play with some attitude and get stronger I think hes a good prospect. Hes tall, athletic and skilled.

Many / most Final Four teams have one guy, but only the blue bloods usually have more. The best OU team ever had the three mentioned above, plus Ricky Grace even scored a 10-day NBA contract reuniting with Mookie on the Hawks. For clarification, Harvey Grant also had a very solid 11-year NBA career. He only averaged about 10 PPG, but was noted as a very good defensive player. Oddly enough, 4 of the 8 guys Billy Tubbs sent to the NBA (who played more than one season) were more noted for their defense than offense (I'm including two TCU guys).

The 2002 OU team with ZERO NBA draft picks is obviously uncommon. The 2016 team would seem to be the norm. For this year's OU team, I only see Trae Young at this time, but perhaps Manek will keep developing and join him.

not looking at per 40. Jamuni is more productive with the minutes he plays.
I've thought for two years now that he should be starting over Lattin

Deandre was bigger but nothing like he is now.

Nobody was guaranteeing Hield had an NBA future, but nobody would have laughed at you for making the prediction at that time.

DeAndre was a teenager at A&M. Big difference.

And he's still a terrible basketball player.

But he's an all-world NBA defender.

lol..... only Young.

What freshmen are playing better than Manec? I am not saying he is a lock for the NBA but he looks really good to me and he has the right frame.

This is not rhetorical, I really don't know and can't imagine more than a handful putting up better numbers. He is definitely a good shooter but he is doing a lot more than just shooting.
