NBA Guys On This Team

What freshmen are playing better than Manec? I am not saying he is a lock for the NBA but he looks really good to me and he has the right frame.

This is not rhetorical, I really don't know and can't imagine more than a handful putting up better numbers. He is definitely a good shooter but he is doing a lot more than just shooting.

most certainly. his defense has improved by leaps and bounds and he moves without the ball - at least to the brief extent that this offense allows or requires. I think all he's missing is attitude.

Many / most Final Four teams have one guy, but only the blue bloods usually have more. The best OU team ever had the three mentioned above, plus Ricky Grace even scored a 10-day NBA contract reuniting with Mookie on the Hawks. For clarification, Harvey Grant also had a very solid 11-year NBA career. He only averaged about 10 PPG, but was noted as a very good defensive player. Oddly enough, 4 of the 8 guys Billy Tubbs sent to the NBA (who played more than one season) were more noted for their defense than offense (I'm including two TCU guys).

The 2002 OU team with ZERO NBA draft picks is obviously uncommon. The 2016 team would seem to be the norm. For this year's OU team, I only see Trae Young at this time, but perhaps Manek will keep developing and join him.

yeah..knew he had a decent long career...think he even lived in Wichita for a bit...

Nobody was guaranteeing Hield had an NBA future, but nobody would have laughed at you for making the prediction at that time.

Yep, the board loved Buddy as a freshman, despite so-so stats.

The search function works!

Start with Marvin Bagley and DeAndre Ayton (who are rivaling Trae). Then continue on with a lot of other guys like Sexton, McCoy, Bamba, etc. Rivals is likely kicking themselves for putting Trae at #16 instead of top 5, but I don't think they're too worried about putting Manek at 143.
