NBA- OU players and general (this thread only)

Trae should have been an All-Star this year because he leads the NBA in assists and his defense has improved. It's too bad his shooting never improved in all these years, but he has improved other areas of his game.

I'm not sure his defense has actually improved. I know you posted that article a couple months ago where Doc Rivers said in passing that his defensive effort is better, but his defensive numbers are right in line with his career norms (slightly worse, actually). Even if he is "trying" harder, he is still bad on that end of the floor.

For all I know, you could be right...only posted what I've read about him...and it was more than one article.

Jimmy Butler to The Warriors. Steph with Jimmy and Draymond: is that a big three, or has time left them behind?

Lakers giving up on Dalton Knecht for a mid center is interesting.

My thoughts are that we were able to get a high-quality big without giving up Austin Reaves is a major win. We have a young 15/10 center who will hopefully continue to get better. As a Lakers fan, I'm always nervous about giving up unprotected 1st round picks (2031), but I had a strong feeling this organization wants to win now. I really like D Kneckt, but certainly not as much as Reaves.

Feel free to chime in JMizzy :-)

with Luka in the fold I am much less concerned with giving up that pick ..

My thoughts exactly. I love Knecht, but the trade was a no-brainer. Williams is already flashing a lot of potential, and he is exactly what the Lakers needed. Not giving up AR and getting what we needed is a dream come true. I told Nick a while ago that LA will never tank and will always value trades and free agents over draft picks, as long as a Buss Family member is in charge and LA stays a preferred destination for young athletes.

can’t blame atlanta. no reason to keeping paying those two $38 million to barely be average. they are not going anywhere. take your time to get a good offer for trae by next season, and build around risachar i guess?

Jalen Johnson maybe but he's out for the year.

didn’t know lakers got 30 year old lebron at the trade deadline, too. showtime is back. i absolutely hate it.

Lost in the angst over the Luka/AD trade is that Dallas got Max Christie in the bargain. His first game for The Mavs, he had fifteen points; against Boston, he also had fifteen points, and they beat the defending champs.
