I wasn't alive at the time - but I think you're thinking of the game in the NCAA tournament when Tisdale was triple teamed and still somehow got the game winner to go.

WF, MichaelM is right. WT’s game winner at the buzzer was in the second OU-Louisiana Tech meeting in the NCAA tourney. My wife and I were at the first matchup between Tisdale and Malone in the 1984 All-college tournament. OU won that game 84-72.

Ahh, yes. I forgot they played twice that year. OU played a pretty tough non-conference schedule that year. Besides Karl Malone and La Tech, we played Illinois (think we played them twice, also), SMU when they had Jon Koncak, and Georgia Tech with Mark Price; among others.
That Sweet 16 matchup, though, was a thing a beauty.
