Ok, so no matter what happens regarding coaches and players, this team still has some holes left to fill. I am going to go ahead and say that Tiny is gone. I hope that I am wrong but I am having a hard time seeing how he couldn't be at this point.

What are our remaining needs for this recruiting class?

IMO

- 1 point guard (probably a JUCO). A lot of folks seem to think we need two, but at this point, I think you go with the best available and have TJ Taylor be the back-up. I think Taylor has the right mindset and skillset to be a solid freshman PG next year. My favorite thing about him is his love of defense. He will play big minutes next year, and will be able to split time as a wing and as a point.

- 2 bigs. Gotta find two guys over 6-7. I could care less about their offensive games. I want two guys that can rebound and defend the post. A mean streak would be a huge bonus.

Add those three to TJ and Cam, and I think we should call it a day. The last thing I want to do is to load up with two or three more subpar players and then be stuck with them/make them transfer. Let's just get a few essential pieces and survive next year. Coach Capel and the staff are in on some good players for the 2011 and 2012 classes.

i think we just need players, no matter the position... we have 2 signed and 1 committ, we need at least 3 more or 4 more...

I know we are in on some good players in 2011-2012, but the fact that we have no commitments for 2011 worries me. One bad season is one thing, but with next year looking bad as well, we can't afford to suck a 3rd year in a row.

I agree that we need some big bodies, and that defense and rebounding are key, but if Tiny is gone, we have to have somebody that can score inside. The other thing is that yes, defense and rebounding were our big issues this year, but TMG, WW and Tiny were three of our worse defenders. If they are all gone, suddenly thats not as big of an issue. Scoring becomes the problem.....among others.

Big,
I am really defeated right now. I hope something good happens. I appreciate all the work you put in as well as the positive posts.

I agree. Aziz, Thompson and one of the juco PG's would wrap it up. But then getting an impact player or two in 2011 would be crucial.

I think Josh Watkins would fill the PG need. I wouldn't mind getting West, but only if we got Watkins too so that West could be a backup and TJ could play one of the other guard spots.

If West and TJ are our only options at PG I think we will be very weak at PG this year. TJ will be a good player I think, but he will be a freshman and West doesn't seem like much of a scoring threat. I look at him as a backup at the Big 12 level.

I am really bummed that we didn't get Carter. Moreso that I was with Roberson, Goodson, Lucas or whoever else.

With Poland most likely going to USF were are we going to get a scoring guard?

Just get a juco PG, couple of kids over 6'7 who can rebound and give 10-20 decent minutes a game and lets grind out this next season as quickly as possible.

Yep, in reality we need players at all positions. And we need these guys to stay for how ever long they are supposed to be here.
